Congratulations to CTK Alum Cooper Smith for this amazing achievement! We are very proud of you!

Congratulations to Jack Davis and Cooper Smith on being selected to participate in the All West Senior High honor choir! They learned difficult music required by the West TN Vocal Music Educators Association, and sang live for three judges on Saturday. They competed against hundreds of other basses and tenors from Shelby county, and were selected by their high numeric scores. Jack will participate as a bass 2 and Cooper as a tenor 1 in the November performance at the Canon Center downtown.

When you are having this much fun, the learning comes naturally! 😊

Meet our new Art teacher Faith Keeling!

Faith is a passionate member of the Christ the King community! Born and raised in Memphis, Faith is back in her hometown with her husband Nick and adorable daughter Rose. After a decade of exciting adventures in 4 states and 2 countries, she’s embraced the joy of motherhood and the beauty of God’s creation.

Faith holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Mississippi. Her diverse experiences as a nanny, volunteer HS youth leader, and adjunct college instructor have shaped her appreciation for the unique gifts of kids of all ages!

When she’s not serving on the Care Team at Christ the King, Faith loves taking Rose on fun adventures to Shelby Farms or the Memphis Zoo. And did you know that she’s a talented seamstress? Sewing is one of her favorite hobbies, passed down to her by her amazing stepmom, Cynthia.

Faith served as a missionary in China, all thanks to the incredible support of the CTK congregation. Faith’s favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Meet our new kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Kris Smith! 🌟

Kris graduated from The University of Memphis with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education in 2010. With 12 years of teaching experience under her belt, she’s a seasoned educator!

Celebrating 19 years wedded with her husband Brian, Kris is also a loving mom to four incredible children: Carter (17), Cason (14), Layton (10), and the adorable Millie (4).

When she’s not inspiring young minds in the classroom, Kris is an avid photographer and a nature enthusiast. Her family’s favorite pastime is enjoying beach trips together, and during the summer, she extends her care to foster kittens.

Her favorite bible verse is “So what are we going to say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Kris has deep-rooted connections at CTK, having been christened and confirmed here, just like her family’s generations before. We’re absolutely thrilled to have her on board, nurturing our young learners with boundless care, creativity, and a thirst for knowledge.

This week we are delighted to introduce Kimberly Britt!

Kim is teaching Horizons, an enrichment program for gifted and talented students!

Kim graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, focusing on English and Fine Arts. She brings a wealth of knowledge and a passion for nurturing young minds.

She is married to Adam Britt and a proud mother of three wonderful children, all of whom attend Christ the King.

Kim has been a valued member of Christ the King Lutheran (CTK) church her entire life and actively contributes to the Children’s Ministry, where she teaches Sunday school and supports various events. Kim is an active member of our Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF) and organizes several events throughout the year including the Mother-Daughter Tea and teacher lunches. Her commitment to the church and school community is truly commendable.

Her roots at CTK run deep, having graduated from here and contributed in various roles over the years.

Outside the classroom, Kim’s favorite pastime is cheering on her children in their various sports activities!

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17 holds a special place in her heart: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.”

Introducing Welcome Wednesday!
This week, we have the pleasure of featuring Tiffanie Thompson.

Tiffanie's roots run deep in Memphis, Tennessee, where she was born and raised. She shares her life with her husband, Josh Thompson, and together they have a beautifully blended family of eight amazing kids, consisting of three daughters and five sons.

While Tiffanie may be relatively new to her role as a Pre-K 3 teacher, she is no stranger to Christ the King. She and her family are active members of the church congregation, dedicating their time and talents to various church activities. Tiffanie currently leads a Sunday school class, while her husband serves as an elder.

One of Tiffanie's cherished childhood memories involves her Aunt Bea teaching her in Sunday school. This memory has left an indelible mark on her Christian journey, and she is passionate about creating similar lasting memories for other children as they grow in their faith.

Tiffanie's heart also yearns for adventure, as her favorite hobby is traveling. She's on a mission to explore all the states in the USA, and so far, she's checked off 21 of them, along with two other countries. She’s an enthusiast for trying out new restaurants, especially those that serve brunch, making her a true culinary adventurer.

Her favorite Bible quote, "You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all your heart" (Jeremiah 29:13), speaks to the depth of her faith, while her favorite life motto, "Don't look back, you're not going that way," by Mary Engelbreit, reflects her forward-thinking spirit.

We're proud to celebrate the strong sense of family that permeates Christ the King, reminding us that we are more than just a church and school building; we are a tight-knit community. Welcome, Tiffanie, to this wonderful family!
