Meet one of our newest Vocal Instructors Karissa Walhof

My name is Karissa Walhof and I am from Northwest Iowa. I am currently studying worship leadership at Visible Music College. I have a deep passion for music. I sing and play both the violin and the guitar. I love to share what I know with others as well as continue to learn myself. I'm excited to be a part of VCMS this year in order to develop relationships with the kids and teach them some valuable life skills.

Meet our 'Drum' Lead Instructor: Ryan Peel!
Ryan is a drummer/songwriter/producer who has recorded with artists such as Brennan Villines, Travis Roman, Alex Kramer and Webbstar. In addition to his studio work, Peel has toured internationally with Cody Simpson, Cassio Monroe, and Big Smo.
Peel has been a Dream Cymbals artist since 2014.
We are excited and blessed to have Ryan on our team to train and equip young musicians in Memphis to become the best they can be in society!

Meet Nicole Benson: Drum instructor and camp personnel.
Nicole has been teaching Drums with VCMS since Fall 2017. She is originally from the Eastern Shore, Maryland and came with her husband Heath to Memphis to pursue her Degree in modern music-Drums at Visible Music College. Nicole is currently a sophomore at Visible Music
College. She is broadening her music horizon by learning bass and enrolling in vocal lessons.
Mrs. Benson comes with many years of experience working with kids. She has a great personality and adores children!

Meet our Director: Carter Threlkeld.
Carter graduated from University of Michigan with a music education degree. He is the Founder of the Bellevue Baptist Church, Instrumental Music program- [school of music and orchestra]. He is also the Founder of the Joseph ministry to Shelby county’s juvenile inmates. Mr. Threlkeld is a trumpet teacher and clinician. In addition to his musical experiences and achievements, he serves as the Worship Pastor at Leawood East Baptist Church in Memphis, TN.
