a snowy day at Grace St. Luke's
Thank you so much to the tireless effort by the faculty and staff of Grace St. Luke’s School to host 8th grade graduation!! What a tremendous job planning and pivoting the ceremony!! We have loved our time at GSL! We missed the students who could not attend. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the end of our time at the school special!! So proud of these young men and women 😘
Hi Grace-St. Luke's! The Dugan family is excited to join next fall. We move to Memphis in May.
To GSL parents, particulary of middle schoolers (I tagged some of you lovelies): We are a former GSL family that moved to North Carolina in 2013 (leaving in 3rd grade). Now, as Katie prepares to graduate from 8th grade at Canterbury Episcopal School in Greensboro, I meet a parent who is moving her daughter to Memphis and enrolling at GSL. She will be a 7th grader next year. Are there any parents that would be willing to speak to the Mom to give her a little description of the magic of GSL? Looking to help establish some early contacts. Thanks to all in advance. Feel free to message me.
Congratulations to Boys' Combo 5/6 Flaherty on your 12-3 season.
Good luck in your championship game on February 7!πŸ€πŸ€
We loved meeting our Grandson Liam's teachers.....Ms. Liz and Ms. Jeanette......had a wonderful day....
Anyone selling a size 14 or 16 navy jacket? Not sure ours will even make it to Friday 😳
What a fantastically fun day of learning about Dry Ice and Polymers on Mad Scientist Day!!
Shout out to Nash and Cris for participating in the Tennessee State Cross Country Championship!
Great turnout and beautiful weather for GSL Golf! Go Saints! βš“οΈ #lukersforlife

Senior Kindergartners are having fun doing a new thing – instead of eating in their classrooms, they're lunching in the Lower School Multipurpose Room (our former cafeteria, built 45 years ago!). Excellent practice for next year when they'll be eating in the Anchor Cafeteria! 😊

Third graders Angel, Louise, and Jennings point out the different offerings at the Lower School's Dia de los Mu***os altar created by Spanish Teacher Carmen Navarro. They had fun learning about this traditional Mexican holiday celebrating departed friends and family members. #diadelosmuertos

Sixth grade science students have been learning about atmospheric pressure and how to predict weather. They made barometers and taught the first graders how to make measurements using them. Lastly, they experienced 14.7 pounds per square inch of atmospheric pressure by getting inside a bag and removing the air from inside, using a vacuum. They described the experience as getting a β€œfirm hug” from the atmosphere! πŸ’πŸ˜œ

Eighth grade students in Kimberley Morrison's Spanish class researched a famous Hispanic person and built an altar in memory of the individual's life. Each altar contains several offerings (ofrendas) to honor the deceased in celebration of El DΓa de Los Mu***os.

Really fun Celebration led by Juan Roncal on Friday - we did some mummification of teachers ... and students! We also had some great broadcast and photography assistance from some of our 7th graders - Jamel and Calvin helped livestream the event, and photos here were taken by Wesley W. We even pulled in some 6th grade assistance on the broadcast from Karter and Lucy. And we also celebrated our Saints cross-country teams heading off to state! Thanks to all of our Celebration participants - it was a great lead-in to Halloween week at GSL! πŸŽƒπŸ‘»
