✍🏾 FOX MEADOWS WRITING BOOT CAMP 📝

Once a month, students in grades 2–5 participate in a grade-level Writing Boot Camp led by our PLC Coach, Ms. Angel McKay. During each session, students carefully read a writing prompt and develop a written response to a related question. 📚✍🏾

Between each boot camp, students practice with their ELA teachers and receive targeted support to prepare for the next mock writing assessment.

🎯 End-of-Year Writing Goals

🔴 Grade 2: Write 3–4 complete sentences
⚫ Grade 3: Write a well-developed paragraph
🔴 Grades 4–5: Write an essay with at least five paragraphs

🏠 HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Make sure your child practices writing at home regularly. Encourage your child to:

✅ Read the prompt carefully
✅ Answer every part of the question
✅ Organize their ideas
✅ Use complete sentences
✅ Check capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and spelling

Together, we can help our students become confident, successful writers! 🦊❤️🖤
