Our 2-year-olds were putting those little minds and hands to WORK today! ✏️📓☀️

Today we practiced the words “I,” “like,” and “can.” Each child had their own notepad with the word written in front of them, and then they were given the opportunity to write it themselves.

At this age, we are NOT looking for perfect handwriting. Those little scribbles, crooked lines, backwards letters, and attempts are exactly where learning begins! We’re working on pencil control, letter formation, word recognition, fine motor skills, and building their confidence to say, “I can do it!”

At Dee’s Sunshine Academy, we believe our toddlers are capable of learning SO much when we introduce skills early, keep learning fun, and most importantly, give them the opportunity to TRY. ❤️

A little learning through play today! 🥰🔎

We played a fun scavenger hunt where I would show the children a picture of an item, and then they had to search the playground to figure out where I hid it.

This video is from our very last item, which they successfully found hiding in the turtle sandbox! 😂🐢 Once they found it, the real discussion started.. everybody wanted to figure out who was going to be the one to bring it back to me! 😂

I love activities like this because while they think they’re simply playing, they’re practicing picture recognition, following directions, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication all at the same time.

And yes… Ms. Dee was standing back recording the whole thing. 😂💛 Look at those little minds working!

There’s something so special about watching little minds grow. 🌞📚 These babies are only TWO years old, and we’re already building a foundation for a lifelong love of learning! Through hands-on activities, visual learning, repetition, and a consistent daily routine, we’re introducing sight words, letters, early writing skills, and so much more.. all while allowing them to learn at their own pace and HAVE FUN doing it. ✏️🧠 At Dee’s Sunshine Academy, we don’t rush childhood—we simply give our little learners the exposure, encouragement, and tools they need to SHINE! 💛✨

These little learners are only TWO years old! 💛📚

At this age, learning should be hands-on, visual, repetitive, and part of their everyday routine. Our toddlers may not be expected to master sight words just yet, but introducing them early allows them to become familiar with letters, words, sounds, and language through daily exposure.

We’re also beginning to introduce early writing skills! ✏️ From holding crayons and pencils to tracing, scribbling with purpose, and strengthening those little hands, every activity is helping prepare them for the next stage of learning.

At Dee’s Sunshine Academy, we believe you’re never too little to LEARN! 🌞❤️ We meet them where they are, make learning fun, and build on those skills every single day.

Good morning from Dee’s Sunshine Academy! ☀️🍌🥛

We’re starting our morning with full bellies and happy little faces! Today’s breakfast is warm oatmeal, sausage, fresh sliced bananas, and 6 oz. of cold milk. A nutritious breakfast helps fuel our little learners for a busy day of learning, growing, and play! ❤️

⏰ Breakfast first, then it’s time to learn! Class begins promptly at 9:30 AM. We love keeping our little scholars on a consistent schedule and ready for a successful day! 📚✏️
