It’s lunchtime at Dee’s Sunshine Academy! 🍽️☀️ Today our little ones are enjoying baked chicken, creamy mac & cheese, green beans, and warm wheat rolls. 😋 We normally love serving fresh fruit with our meals, but with the recent concerns surrounding fresh fruit and foodborne illness, we’re taking a little extra precaution and serving sealed fruit cups on the side for now. 🍑🍍 We want our babies to enjoy a balanced, filling meal while keeping their health and safety first. Full bellies, happy babies, and then you already know what comes next… NAP TIME! 😂💛

And just like that… my babies are officially BIG kids! 🥹🎓🍎 Sage, Rayia Logan, and Lela all started kindergarten this week, officially saying goodbye to the childcare world and hello to big girl and big boy school! ❤️ I am so proud of each of them and so grateful that I had the opportunity to be a part of their journey. A very special shout-out to their parents… THANK YOU for trusting me with your babies, for allowing me to love on them, teach them, nurture them, and help prepare them for this next chapter. That kind of trust is something I will never take for granted. Go be GREAT, babies! Ms. Dee will always be cheering you on! 🥹❤️📚✏️🎒

🌙 Night Care at Dee’s Sunshine Academy 🌙

Not every parent works a traditional 9-to-5, and childcare shouldn’t only cater to those who do! Our night-care hours are 3:00 PM–11:00 PM, providing extended-hour care for families working second shift and those long, demanding schedules. We understand that law enforcement officers, healthcare professionals, EMTs, firefighters, and other working parents may still be on the clock long after most childcare facilities have closed.

And while Mommy or Daddy is working, those babies still have a schedule too! ❤️ Dinner, winding down, getting comfortable, and most importantly—REST! Whether they have school the next morning or simply need to stay on their normal bedtime routine, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where they can settle in for the evening.

We are a licensed childcare facility offering extended hours of care, because working families deserve dependable childcare beyond 6 PM too. 🏡🍎💤

✏️ What a wonderful day it is to write!

There is something so special about watching little hands learn to hold a pencil, make their first marks on paper, and slowly discover that those little lines and curves will one day become letters, words, and stories. Every great reader, teacher, doctor, entrepreneur, and leader started with learning how to write.

At Dee’s Sunshine Academy, journal time isn’t just about filling a page.. it’s about building confidence, strengthening fine motor skills, encouraging creativity, and helping our little learners find their own voice one letter at a time. Today we welcomed our children to the wonderful world of writing, where every scribble is progress and every page is a new beginning.

💙🎓 Bittersweet doesn’t even begin to describe this moment.

This week marks the end of an incredible chapter here at Dee’s Sunshine Academy. These two sweet faces are headed off to kindergarten, and while my heart is full, it’s definitely a little heavy too.

I’ve had sweet Raiya since she was just about 10 weeks old, and Logan came to me shortly after his first birthday. Now, here we are… watching them spread their wings and take the next big step in life. What an honor it has been to love them, teach them, cheer them on, wipe tears, celebrate milestones, and watch them grow into the amazing little people they are today.

People often ask how long children stay with me, and this is what longevity looks like. It’s not just childcareit’s family. Their parents trusted me with the most precious people in their lives, and over the years we’ve built relationships that don’t end just because kindergarten begins.

To Raiya and Logan’s amazing parents… thank you. Thank you for trusting me, believing in me, communicating with me, and allowing me to be part of your village. Your support has meant more than you’ll ever know.

Raiya and Logan, go shine bright! Keep being kind, curious, confident, and courageous. Mrs. Dee will always be your biggest cheerleader, and this will always be your home away from home.

The hardest part about loving these babies is watching them grow up and leave me. 🥹❤️

This August I have a few of my babies graduating from Dee’s Sunshine Academy and heading off to kindergarten. Watching them walk in as toddlers and leave confident, smart, and ready for their next chapter reminds me why I love what I do.
