As we close out another successful school year, we would like to recognize our SAA 1st-7th and our SDS K-7th students who received the following special awards.
The Star Award and Sun Award recipients, chosen by the students, create a positive school community by exhibiting the Gospel message of love in their everyday lives.
The Dominican Spirit Award recipients, chosen by the faculty, are recognized for actively demonstrating the Pillars throughout the school year.
The JRP Award recipients, also chosen by faculty, are students who treat others with respect and stand up for justice, using their voices to support and protect others.
The Heart of a Brother Award is presented by CBHS to a 7th grade student that demonstrates the virtues of a loving brother, mentor, role model, and friend.

It was an outstanding year in sports for our Lower School Stars and Suns! At the 5th-8th Athletic Awards Assembly we recognized everyone who dedicated their time and talents to SAA-SDS during the 2025-2026 school year. At the assembly, several special awards were given.
Our top two awards, the Dick Saukus and James W. Mathis Memorial Awards, were presented to one 8th grade multi-sport athlete from each school who excelled and exemplified the combination of athletic ability, academic achievement, and citizenship. This year's winners were:
The Dick Saukus Memorial Award – Elizabeth Onikeku
The James W. Mathis Memorial Award – Webb Elkington
The Scholar Athlete awards were given to multi-sport athletes with the highest GPAs in 7th and 8th grade for SAA and SDS. This year’s recipients were:

St. Agnes 8th Grade Scholar Athlete: Elizabeth Onikeku
St. Dominic 7th Grade Scholar Athlete: Michael Yatsula

Our SAA K-6 Stars enjoyed one last sisterhood event before school got out-the annual trip to the Memphis Zoo! The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful day sharing fun and friendship!

This year nine outstanding Upper School students received Book Awards at the annual Undergraduate Awards Assembly. Book Awards are presented by colleges and alumni associations to high school sophomores and juniors who excel not only academically but also embody a college or university’s core values through their intellectual endeavors and engagement with the world of ideas.
The High Point University Book Award recipient was Maliyah Williams.
The Bowdoin College Book Award recipient was Olivia Owens
The Clarkson University Achievement Award recipient was Sarah Segarra.
The Clarkson University Leadership Award recipient was Claire Wetick.
The Hollins University Creative Writing Book Award recipient was Huong Nguyen.
The Sacred Heart University Book Award recipient was Emma Tansey.
The Tulane University Book Award recipient was Brissa Suarez.
The University of Virginia Jefferson Book Award recipient was Emma Casey.

The last project of the year for our Pre-K Stars and Suns was the Alphabet Heroes parade! They celebrated knowing all of the letters of the alphabet and had fun showing off their capes!

We are so proud of our track team who competed at the State Championship and represented our school with determination, heart, and pride!
Finishing 10th overall and earning the title of Top school in the West Region in our division is an incredible accomplishment. We are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and teamwork these athletes showed all season long. ⭐ Go Stars! ⭐
