It was my privilege to serve this wonderful school community for 13 years as the Director of Faith Formation. During those years I witnessed some amazing moments of learning, service, prayer, support, and total dedication from both teachers and students. I saw little ones bound into the building, excited about their school day. I saw high school students line the hallways each morning studying and looking forward to the challenges of the day. I watched teachers plan together and work together to build a strong curriculum. I watched as we celebrated the accomplishments of students, and I witnessed the loving support that was shown in times of trial or sadness. It was truly the most enlightening years of my life. BUT, what I have observed in the last weeks has totally amazed me. This wonderful school in three days resurrected education to a new level – 3 days! This community of educators so skilled in their craft took what has gone on in a building for 169 years and brought it to the home of every student and family! Yes, they sent lessons and plans, but they also have been able to compress into the “airways” the amazing charism that defines this school, a charism that I truly believe is unique and edifying in every sense of the word. The heart of this school has been seen in what happens and is happening as the school year continues to roll on at St. Agnes Academy – St. Dominic School.

Team bonding for the JV and Varsity soccer teams last night as they watched the University of Memphis women's team take on Mizzou in an exhibition game. We cannot wait to see these ⭐Stars⭐ take the field for the season! This is truly the most wonderful time of the year in our Upper School! Welcoming our freshman at FSO is a fun and exciting overnight experience led by our senior peer mentors. The Class of 2024 chose the theme "Stars in Hollywood" for the event and they have put in countless hours preparing. This student-led orientation is the first of many amazing memories the Class of 2027 will make over the next four years. Welcome to The Academy!

When we asked SAA Upper School science teacher David Tran to share his excitement about the school's Go Light the World campaign and the investment in a new STEM facility for our SAA and SDS students, he shared: "I am excited to have new space that will compliment our top tier science and biomedical programs. The STEM Labs will allow our students to develop and test new ideas for our stem teams, and to experience college-level facilities in the high school setting."

Welcome to our week six Summer Camp Wrap-Up! Day Campers had a busy week while other campers enjoyed Frozen Ballet, Encanto Ballet, Spanish Animal Camp, Boys, Boys,Boys! and Kick It Into Kindergarten (girls). We also hosted 81 students from around the city for Camp Invention, with 6 teachers and 25 junior high and high school assistants! There’s only one week of summer camp fun left! Can you believe it?

⭐ GO STARS! ⭐ Our JV and Varsity volleyball teams attended the Munciana/K2 Volleyball Team Camp this week in Knoxville. This camp is known for hosting high quality competition from the region and providing outstanding skills training.

They're off! Our Upper School students participating in the Costa Rican Cultural Exchange Program arrived in San Jose Tuesday afternoon. For the next two weeks they will be truly immersed into Costa Rican culture by staying with host families and attending La Salle Colegio.
The Costa Rican trip is the culmination of this annual exchange program. Each spring our SAA families host students from LaSalle Collegio, and in return their families host our girls each summer. This partnership is 9 years strong and still growing!

Yesterday our Lower School Learning Specialists attended the Structured Literacy Institute at Bodine. They spent the day listening to speakers who shared their knowledge around intervention vs prevention, small group instruction and differentiation, morphology, and speech and language progression.
