Hello WSHS parents,
Did you know that at least two of our teachers are leaving the school (as of this Monday) because they had to make the choice between teaching from classrooms (to kids still learning on computers) and taking care of their families?

Evidently, our teachers are being forced to quit because there is no accommodation for their circumstances. Where is the logic in not having any flexibility in this policy? Is it really preferable to lose them than to work with them?

I'm wondering if any of you have more information about this. I've contacted those I can think to contact (state reps, school board members, and superintendent's office).
Does anyone have the link to order a yearbook? I swear I had it in email and now can't find it :-(
Good morning WSHS families! I wanted to let you all know that my organization is hosting a free webinar for high school students and parents about navigating the college admissions process from home. You can sign up at bit.ly/PTCwebinar. Hope to see some of you there!
Can someone point me in the direction of the dress code? My daughter is an incoming freshman. Thanks!

WSHS Senior Parents,

Please encourage your Senior to report scholarships, grants, work study, etc. This information will be used for the graduation program, as well as for the Board of Education Scholarship Report.

1. Your student must be logged in to his or her SCS account to submit for security purposes because there are sensitive documents involved.

2. As you receive scholarships/grants, please forward the information to Mrs. Heaston via the link below. This link takes you to the WSHS Scholarship Reporting Form, which asks for everything in step-by-step detail.

https://forms.office.com/r/NeQnRSic7L

3. BE SURE TO COMPLETE ALL INFORMATION for scholarships from colleges and other agencies. Indicate at the appropriate place the ones you will accept. Your scholarship will not be recorded if you do not have proof of the award. Amounts awarded to you in the form of GRANTS or WORK STUDY should also be reported.

4. A copy of your award or SAR (Student Aid Report-from FAFSA) letter should also be provided. Award letters must be kept on file and will not be returned to you, so be sure that you keep the original copy. Students can save any award acknowledgments sent by email in a Word document and upload it or email the acknowledgment directly to Mrs. Heaston.

We realize that scholarship offers are a part of an on-going process; however, to compile the SCS report and meet the printing deadline for the graduation program, please turn in your offers AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, but no later than 7:30 A.M. ON Friday, MAY 28, 2021.

Due to the forecast for inclement weather, the Spring Spruce Up Sparta event scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed until May 8 and will be combined with another exciting event, Community Courtyard Phase 2 Planting Day.

Please note the new times, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m., and that there are now two “shifts.” If you previously signed up for Spruce Up Sparta, originally scheduled for 1-4 p.m., that time slot has changed to noon-3 p.m. Please feel free to delete your sign up if you're no longer able to volunteer on the rescheduled date or if you would prefer the earlier shift, 9 a.m.-noon.

And of course, you're certainly welcome to spend the day with us (9 a.m.-3 p.m.) beautifying the WSHS campus on May 8.

For more information, to volunteer or to donate funds or supplies, please visit the Sign Up Genius page.

Community service hours are available both tomorrow and on May 8. If you or your student have time, come out to help out.
