Thank you so much to our Local24 TV news for helping our Binghampton Campus SHINE! We are so proud of our partnership with PRIZM Ensemble and SO proud of the hard work our students are doing to develop their talents!
As our Compass Binghampton Principal, Mrs. Asemota, says: “If we don’t give our students the opportunity, exposure, they’ll never know the hidden talents they possess...I was extremely excited because music feeds the mind, the body, and the spirit.”
We hope everyone in our community is staying safe and healthy during this festive break! We look forward to seeing everyone in the New Year and making it the best year ever - together! 💚💙💚💙
COMPASS HAS OVER 1400 REASONS TO GIVE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. THERE IS STILL TIME TO MAKE YOUR GIFT BEFORE 12/31 AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF TAX DEDUCTIONS FOR 2022.
Nothing gives us those ✨ holiday feels ✨ like serving others! Today (and yesterday), our Frayser Middle School students came to the Mid-South Food Bank to sort donated food! Over 4,000 lbs of food was processed by these young servant leaders! The MSFB serves over 300 people a day on average and we are thrilled to support their incredible efforts! 💚
Thank you, Arkwings Foundation, for this lovely shoutout!! We love the work you do in the community and we are so happy to be a small part of it! 💚
Recently, some of our Compass Midtown students learned that they can use their art skills to SERVE others! What a revelation! These ornaments were created by our students at Arkwings Foundation during their Morning of Service. Now, these works of art are being used as a fundraiser for Arkwings and can be purchased at the Highland/Poplar Art Collective pop up shop! Check it out!
Recently, Ms Russell’s Capstone class went to Room In The Inn - Memphis for the first time. They made cookies and decorations for the dining tables while they were there. They proudly helped provide the hospitality that the guests of RITI deserve. However, when they got back to class they realized they wanted to do MORE! They brainstormed, communicated with the agency, and decided to do ANOTHER project for them before their quarterly partnership ended. They set a goal to collect at least 20 toys for the children who will be guests this season asking the whole school to participate in the toy drive. Students and faculty brought in nearly SEVENTY toys!!!! We are so proud of their compassion for those in need and their commitment to this important agency! Thank you for representing us so well, young servant leaders!! 🎁 💚💙💚💙💚💙 🎁
Reading is ESSENTIAL and we are so excited about the incredible gains our students have made already this year! In November, one of our schools celebrated "Children's Book Week" with a special Reading Buddy activity organized by our very own Reading Coordinator, Ms. Brooke Cauberg. We are so thankful for the dedication ALL of our educators show everyday! To all our Reading Coordinators, thank you for saying "Yes!" to Compass!
We are so very PROUD of Compass Frayser's very own-Ms. Hawkins! She ran the FULL St. Jude Marathon on Saturday, December the 3rd.
26.2 miles for the kids of St. Jude!
Knowledge Quest is one of our newest partner agencies and we LOVE all that they do for families and parents in our community! What December event would you be most interested in attending?
Last week a few of our amazing middle school teachers had the chance to serve at a mobile food distribution for the Mid-South Food Bank! We loved hearing their reflections afterwards as they prepare to take students on a field trip to do the same activity!
One of our favorite sights!! 5 buses preparing to pull out in route to various agencies! Our Freshmen and Sophomore Servant Leaders were serving at 10 locations throughout Memphis this morning!!!
Middle School! Check this candid photo of a Compass middle school classroom during a Morning Meeting. We love starting our day in a way that is engaging, energizing, and empathizing!
