A strong and productive week for TCAT Memphis in Nashville during the TBR - The College System of TN SOAR events and Student Day on the Hill.
President Gwen Sutton, Ed.D. joined members of the TCAT Memphis leadership team, SkillsUSA advisors, and students to represent the college during several statewide engagements that highlight the impact of technical education across Tennessee.
Our SkillsUSA and Student Government Association (SGA) students participated in TBR Student Day on the Hill at the Tennessee State Capitol, where they met with legislators, observed committee meetings, and shared the value of technical education and workforce development with state leaders.
Students and staff also attended several special events throughout the week including the Chancellor’s Reception, the Presidents’ Chicken & Biscuits Breakfast at the State Capitol with members of the Tennessee General Assembly, legislative staff, and other state officials, the Student Honors Luncheon, and the SOAR Awards Dinner, which celebrates outstanding students, faculty, and staff across the College System of Tennessee
We are especially proud of Computer Aided Design student Gabriela Davila, who was named a finalist for TCAT Student of the Year. Gabriela, along with Barbering students Anthony Shearer and Justin Byers, were also recognized during the Student Honors Luncheon for their membership in the National Technical Honor Society.
Congratulations to these students and to everyone who represented TCAT Memphis with excellence and professionalism.
