Today at Bruce Elementary School, we held a workshop on Self-Awareness for the Gents at Bruce and Bellevue Middle School. Our gents ended the session by writing I Am Poems! We are so proud of our gent, LaZarus Morgan. LaZarus was a member of our inaugural class at Bellevue Middle School when he was in the 6th Grade. LaZarus has been an active member since then, and completed numerous service hours mentoring students at Bruce Elementary! We are so proud of his recognition. Congrats young king 👑!
The Young King Award is dedicated to a rising young man who has starting molding his future at a young age. LaZarus K. Morgan () is a senior at Central High School.
LaZarus is a member of both the baseball and football teams while maintaining a 3.7 GPA. He is a member of the Gentlemen’s League, an all mall mentorship program where he has accumulated over 100 community service hours. Some of his efforts have been mentoring students at Bruce Elementary School. His post graduate plans includes attending college and then medical school to become a neurosurgeon.
LaZarus stated that even though he was born and raised in North Memphis, by way of Frayser, he is determined to diminish the stereotype that has been placed on black males in his neighborhood.
