9 years ago today, a dream became a movement.

To every Gent, every parent, every mentor, every partner who has ever believed in this work, thank you. This is yours too.
Here's to 9 years of showing up. 9 years of impact. 9 years of joy. The best? It's still ahead.

π 2026 GOLDEN APPLE AWARDS π
The Executive Director's highest recognition goes to those who believe in this mission so deeply, they give it EVERYTHING.
This year we had three Golden Apple recipients:
MR. TROY BRADLEY (Leadership Prep)
A volunteer mentor/site coordinator who didn't have to show up. He showed up anyway. His personal investment in our Gents is an act of pure love.
MR. ANTONIO McKAY- not pictured (KIPP Middle)
Leading with excellence. Under his watch: GPAs rising, absences dropping, behavior improving. That's mentorship that changes lives.
BLAKE KELLY (Bellevue Middle β Rising 9th Grade)
A young man who embodies what we stand for. Leadership among peers. Engagement. Excellence. The future of the Gents.
These three represent the heart of what we do. Thank you for your sacrifice, your excellence, and your belief.

Some awards you give. Some awards a school earns.
This year, one school stood above the rest, and it wasn't by accident.
PCA Southeast Elementary is our 2026 School Site of the Year. And the man leading the charge there is our 2026 Site Coordinator of the Year, Mr. Jaylon Holmes.
Here's what one grandmother had to say about Mr. Holmes:
"Mr. Holmes is present for my two grandsons during school and if I need to contact him after school. If my grandsons need advice or have an issue, he helps with it. I worked 33 years serving four different government agencies, and I can certainly say, we need more men and mentors like Mr. Holmes."
That's the kind of presence that changes a school's entire culture. And the numbers prove it.
π PCA Southeast Elementary End of Year Data:
π Absences down 67% from Q1 to Q4
π Behavior infractions down 57% from Q1 to Q4
π GPAs up 7% from Q1 to Q4
In one school year.
That's not a program. That's a transformation. That's what The Gentlemen's League looks like when a school is fully committed, and when you have the right person leading it every single day.
Congratulations, Mr. Holmes. Congratulations, PCA Southeast Elementary. You showed Memphis what Built Different really means.

TODAY IS A DAY WE WILL NEVER FORGET.
Let us be clear, The Gentlemen's League has celebrated graduates before. We have watched many of our boys go off to college and we are proud of every single one of them. But today is different.
Today we celebrate our FIRST EVER cohort to complete our full school-based high school program and curriculum from start to finish.
The Caste of Elders: 13 young kings from University High School. Class of 2026. They did not just graduate high school, they completed the full TGL high school experience. The mentoring. The curriculum. The brotherhood. All of it. And every single one of them, 100%, has been accepted into college.
These 13 young men just changed what's possible for every boy coming up behind them.
To the Caste of Elders: you will always hold a special place in TGL history. You were first. And first matters.
Drop a π in the comments to celebrate the Class of 2026!

The Carter-Moss Black Male Scholarship is named in honor of the late grandfathers of our Founder & Executive Director, Dr. Archie Moss Jr., Bishop Benjamin F. Carter and Lawrence Moss. Two men who led with love, integrity, and purpose. This scholarship exists because of the legacy they left behind.
This year marks our 5th annual scholarship, and for the first time ever, we expanded from 4 recipients to 6. More young men. More investment. More futures changed. π
Congratulations to our 2026 Carter-Moss Scholars:
π Thomas Johnson β University of Tennessee, Knoxville
π Brandon Dill β University of Memphis
π Miles Caldwell β University of Memphis
π Isaiah Jerome Dorsey β Tennessee State University
π Cameron Jones β Florida A&M University
π Nicholas Glasper β University of Memphis
To Bishop Carter and Lawrence Moss: your legacy is walking across stages this spring. π€
