Week 13:
1. Our field trip is next Friday. The completed slip and a cash payment are due this Wednesday.
2.This week ends the progress report. All progress reports will be sent home next Wednesday.
3. This week is our PTA Membership Drive. The cost is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family. If you are not already a member of PTA, please join. PTA does a lot to help our school and our students.
4. Mark your calendars: Tuesday, November 11th is Veteran's Day. There will be no school in observance of the holiday. Students will return to school Wednesday, November 12th.

Kate Bond Elementary- 3rd Grade
This is your source of information for Kate Bond Elementary's 3rd Grade Classes. All school and grade level events/news will be posted here.

Week 12:
1. Field Trip permission slips were sent home last Wednesday. The completed slip and a cash payment are due Wednesday, November 5th.
2.This week is Healthy Choices/red Ribbon Week. Below is a list of the schedule.
Monday, October 27 – Wear a college t-shirt
Tuesday, October 28 - Favorite Athletic Day; Team jersey day
Wednesday, October 29 – Wear orange “Orange” you glad to be drug and bully free? Stop name calling. Do a kind deed for someone.
Thursday , October 30- KBE School Pride Day; (wear your class shirts or KBE t-shirt) or Character Day- Students may dress as storybook characters. Students must bring the book to school, and must be able to summarize the book when asked by a teacher or staff member.
Friday, October 31- Pet Awareness Day- Wear Animal Print or a Red T-shirt
Week 10:
1.The Enjoy the City Fundraiser payments were due before fall break. If you have not returned your unsold coupon book, please send it to your child's homeroom teacher. Any student who has not returned the coupon book or payment will not receive a report card.
2. Report Cards will be used to all students on Wednesday. Please review the report card with your child, sign it, and return it to school by the end of the week.
3. As we begin a new 9 week period, please take a moment to review the uniform policy. The uniform policy can be found in the front of your child's agenda.
4. If your child purchased one of the class t-shirts, they were sent home before fall break. They may be worn on Fridays and on field trips.

Week 9:
1.The Enjoy the City Fundraiser payments were due last Friday. If you have not returned your unsold coupon book, please send it to your child's homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
2. Friday is Picture Day. Package lists and prices were sent home last week. Please, review the lists and return the completed form and payment to school by Friday. All students are required to be in uniform.
3. Friday is the next Bike to School Day.
4. The end of the 1st nine week grading period is Friday. Report Cards will be used to all students on Wednesday, October 15th.
5. Next week,October 6th-10th, is Fall Break . All students will return to school Monday, October 13th.
Week 8:
1.The Enjoy the City Fundraiser payments are due Friday. Also, please return any unsold coupon books to your child's homeroom teacher.
2. This week, all students will take the first Discovery Assessments of the school year. There will be three different assessments: reading/language arts, math, and science. Teachers will use these to determine students' progress and areas in need of improvement. Please encourage your child to do his/her best in order to show what he/she knows and provide teachers with an accurate assessment.
3. Friday, October 3rd is the next Bike to School Day.
4. The end of the 1st nine week grading period is Friday, October 3rd.
5. Mark your calendars: Fall Break will be October 6th-10th. All students will return to school Monday, October 13th.

Week 7:
1. This week,students will have the opportunity to donate to LeBonheur and be out of uniform. The donation requests are:

2.Enjoy the City Coupon Books is our new fundraiser. PTA will be sending home the information early this week. Please look for the information and help support KBE.
3. Thursday is Parent Teacher Conferences. Please schedule a conference with your child's homeroom teacher prior to arriving.
4. No school Friday for students. Students will return to school Monday, September 22nd.

Week 6 (Go Jim Go Week):
1. This week is Go Jim Go Week. KBE will be collecting money for LeBonheur Children's Hospital. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday- Collecting Nickles
Wednesday- Collecting Dimes
Thursday- Collecting Quarters
Friday- Collecting Dollars
This money is being raised for a great cause. Thank you in advance for your participation!

3.Wednesday is 3rd grade Grandparents' Day. All grandparents are invited to join the students for lunch during their regularly scheduled lunch time. Any school guests who would like to eat in the cafeteria must have already prepaid in the office or bring their own lunch. No cash is taken in the cafeteria.
4. Yankee Candle Fundraiser order forms and money are due Wednesday. Please send them into your child's homeroom teacher.
5. Thursday night is our first PTA meeting. The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing you there.
6. Next Thursday, September 18th, is Parent Teacher Conferences. Conference notices will be sent home Wednesday with graded papers. Please complete, sign, and return the conference form by Thursday.

1. Continue to collect your change. Next week,September 8th-12th, Kate Bond will kick off our Go Jim Go campaign to benefit LeBonheur. Last year, KBE was able to raise over $3000. Let's see if we can top that this year. The schedule is as follows:

4. Last Thursday, our first fundraiser of the year was sent home. Students are selling Yankee Candle. Please help support your child and Kate Bond by participating. All order forms and payment are due next week. In advance, thank you for your support!
Week 4 Information:
Many parents and students have already brought in Box Tops for Education. They can be found on many everyday food and household items. Just cut them out and send them into your child's homeroom teacher. We receive 10 cents for every Box Top collected.

Week 3 Reminders:
Grade level t-shirt order forms were sent home last week. If you or your child is interested in ordering one, please return the completed blue form along with the cash payment. T-shirts are $5.00 each.
Graded papers will be sent home Wednesday. Please review the papers with your child, sign them, and return them to school Thursday.
Friday is Bike to School Day.
Since all students receive free breakfast and lunch this year, there will be no cash accepted in the cafeteria. If you would like to put money on your child's account, you may do so at www.MyPaymentsPlus.com .
Please review the school dress code with your child. There have been a couple of changes made since last year. The dress code can be found in your child's agenda.
Don't forget to ask your child to see his/her weekly newsletter.

Week 2 Updates:
This week our support classes begin. Please make sure your child wears his/her tennis shoes on P.E. day.
Meet the Teacher Night is Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. We look forward to seeing everyone there.
Reminders:
If you need to make a change to your child's dismissal, please send your child's homeroom teacher a note about the change.
Students may not be dropped off at school until 8:55 a.m., when breakfast is served. This is for your child's safety. Thank you for your cooperation.

Today is the first day of school! All students will receive free breakfast and lunch for the 2014-2015 school year. Every morning, the school doors will open at 8:55 for breakfast. We are ready for a terrific school year, and we can't wait to see everyone today!
