Success! 👊

Yesterday, our staff split up and traveled to visit every single MTR resident, grad and alum (since 2010!) who are still teaching or leading in Memphis high-needs schools.

How many teachers did we see, you ask? 272.

272 smiles, hugs, words of encouragement and goodie bags! We call that a S U C C E S S ✨

Comment below who you saw!

💡 At MTR, we believe these three big ideas:

1. Educational inequality is a human and civil rights issue.
2. God calls his people to go into all the world to offer love and seek justice for all.
3. Teaching children is one of the most important jobs one can enter into.

✨✨

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!

Today we celebrate the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, which is September 15-October 15.

We are proud to work with and in communities with such amazing Latinx families, all of whom are worthy of honoring. We also take this time to appreciate the many Latinx teachers who have gone (and are going!) through our program over the last 15 years and are making a difference in education.

Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the anniversaries of independence for Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. It also recognizes Mexico’s Independence Day on September 16th, Chile’s on September 18th, and Belize’s on September 21st.
