Introducing principles of gun defenses.

I've had a few questions in class about dealing with gun defenses. One of the questions is, “will the gun go off?” The answer is probably and maybe a second time, but likely the gun will malfunction if my redirecting hand grabs the slide/cylinder strongly. This malfunction helps us in the defense while we apply violence. It also amplifies the need for the defender to learn how to properly operate the weapon. If you're successful in the disarm, you will likely need to "fix it.” Tap - Rack - decision time. I've posted a couple of videos of just the hand grabbing the weapon creating the malfunction, not the complete disarming technique.
