Rhodes stands with our international students and opposes the new federal guidelines that unfairly target them.

Memphis police clear downtown plaza, detain protesters who camped out for two weeks 07/06/2020

The GSS program supports our Rhodes students and alumni arrested during the ongoing protests at Memphis City Hall last week. Civil Disobedience is an integral, effective political performance tradition that has been practiced in Memphis with significant potency for generations. Young people, particularly young people of color and young q***r & trans people - are often the ones brave enough to face state violence head-on, even during a pandemic, and we applaud their commitment to pushing for change in our community and nation by putting their own bodies on the line.

Memphis police clear downtown plaza, detain protesters who camped out for two weeks Protesters have camped outside the Memphis City Hall since June 16. The city said the move was necessary to allow for construction.
