The Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa, Rhodes College The Gamma Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa was established at Rhodes College on December 5, 1949.

Our chapter was the 143rd in the nation to be chartered, and the third in the state of Tennessee; there are currently 286 chapters in the United States.

The Phi Beta Kappa induction ceremony will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, May 10 in McNeill Concert Hall. The annual luncheon will follow the induction ceremony at approximately 12:30 PM in the Refectory. Matthew Lembke, Rhodes College Phi Beta Kappa Class of 1988 and recipient of the Peyton Nalle Rhodes Prize, will be the speaker.

Members of the Rhodes College community are invited to attend both of these events. The induction is free and open to the public; the luncheon is $25 per person, and reservations are required. Please contact Prof Courtney Collins by Monday, April 29 if you would like to reserve a seat for the luncheon.

An undocumented immigrant from the Dominican Republic, and author of the memoir Undocumented (Penguin Books), he will speak at 7pm in Blount Auditorium on Wednesday, 3/21. We hope you will join us!
