As we plan for kicking off the 2020-21 school year with Distance Learning, we have identified NearPod as an interactive and entertaining platform for teachers and students to remain engaged in learning. NearPod will allow our teachers to deliver live instruction to our students using our curriculum with opportunities for students to engage in the lesson in real-time. The teacher can pose multiple-choice, open-ended and collaboration questions, as well as use multimedia such as videos, websites, and simulations; all while maintaining the pace of the class, responding to students, and adjusting instruction just like in an in-person classroom.

Not all virtual learning or distance learning is created equal and it is very important to us to ensure that our students are not just sitting behind a screen struggling to teach themselves with generic programming (which unfortunately is the case for many other schools). Review the points below for more details about what sets our distance learning model apart from the rest.
- All of our classes will be taught by certified and highly qualified teachers. We have the best teaching staff around!
- Our students will be receiving lessons that are the same as (if not better than) the rich, hands-on, engaging instruction that they would get if they were inside of the building.
- Teachers will be delivering lessons live and will be answering questions, giving in-the-moment feedback, and helping students with their school work.
- Assignments will be graded and students will receive progress reports.
- Students will remain on track towards mastering grade level standards so that they're prepared for the next grade level and beyond.
- All students will have a laptop signed out to them and will be gifted with a free bundle of instructional materials and school supplies.
- School is not being delayed. We will start on time on August 10th. Please sign up for an orientation slot so that your student can receive their log-in information and training with our systems and receive their materials on time.
