We’re proud to share that Crosstown High is partnering with the The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching on the Portable Student Learning Record project, part of Carnegie’s national research and development agenda to transform the American high school.

A student’s transcript should paint a fuller picture of what they can do — the version that doesn’t always translate to letter grades and GPAs. This project sets out to build one: a trusted record that captures evidence of learning from classrooms to workplaces and other out-of-school settings. Together with a group of school systems, research, and technology partners, we’ll test how that record can be verified and trusted, as well as the part these efforts most often skip: whether educators and employers in the real world will actually use it.

We believe students deserve a record of learning that captures more than grades alone. By recognizing meaningful work, real-world experiences, and growth over time, we can help create a more complete picture of what young people know, what they can do, and who they are becoming.

Recently at Crosstown High 💙

Learning happened in a lot of different ways this week.

Students explored science through hands-on labs, discovered new perspectives at the Dixon, built friendships in Freshman Seminar, expressed creativity in Global Art, and found the perfect camera angle in Photography.

Just another week of learning, creating, and growing together.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our Crosstown community, we officially met and exceeded our goal by raising $32,732.24 through the Yeti Fund during the 2025-2026 school year!

Because of your support, we funded:

✨Overnight camping trips for our Great Outdoors APEX
✨Professional learning travel to a national competency-based conference for teacher leaders
✨Campus safety improvements

Now, we are setting our sights higher for the 2026-2027 school year with a new goal of $40,000. You can help us make an even greater impact by setting up a monthly recurring gift ($10, $15, or $50/month) or by making a one-time contribution.

There’s just something special about the first day. 💛

The hallways are full again. Classrooms are buzzing with questions, conversations, and plenty of first-day energy. Students are reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones, and beginning to find their place in the community.

And through it all, learning has already begun, not just in lessons and activities, but in listening to one another, building relationships, trying something new, and discovering what it means to belong.

It was a good first day. We’re glad our students are here, and we can’t wait to see where this year takes us. 📚✨

More than 20 Yetis spent part of their summer exploring the Dominican Republic, gaining new perspectives, making memories, and experiencing a different part of the world together.

From powerful words shared by our commencement speakers Kate and RJ, to the steady wisdom of Mr. Stuart, proud families, and tight embraces — graduation was a moment filled with reflection, gratitude, and hope.

To our graduates: step forward with courage. Lead with compassion. Keep learning, even in the midst of uncertainty. The world may not always feel steady, but your voice, your values, and your work matter.

Prom was a night to remember. Our students showed up dressed to impress, ready to celebrate, laugh, and make memories together.

They looked incredible, and we’re still smiling about it. 💙
