More great sports news! TWO of our stellar cross country athletes just qualified for the 2024 Tennessee State Championship meet! Senior Cameron Carter had a BLAZING fast 5K time and finished 2ND OVERALL in the Western Regional Championship! Senior Shakeria McKinley came in 7TH PLACE out of all of the girls and paved her way to the state meet! The rest of the boys team battled it out valiantly, but unfortunately their season ended with a 7th place overall team finish. Be sure to congratulate them all when you see them in school tomorrow, and send good vibes and good luck to Cam and Shakeria for the big state championship meet taking place next week. Go tornados!

TSCS just got some wonderful news:

On behalf of the TN FAFSA Challenge and the Tennessee Higher Education Commission/Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation, I am excited to share that The Soulsville Charter School has earned the FAFSA Champion Designation for the 2023-2024 academic year.

This designation is awarded to schools whose Tennessee Promise FAFSA completion rate increased by 5+% over the previous year, or those whose Tennessee Promise FAFSA completion rate exceeds 90%. This notification is a little later than usual due to the delayed deadline for TN Promise FAFSA completion.

Thanks again for the great work you do to ensure all Tennessee students have the opportunity to access and succeed in higher education.

Things are growing at TSCS!

STEM is the future!

Sherita Donald (Class of 2021 and in the red shirt!) applied for a STEM classroom grant through the Tennessee Valley Authority for The Soulsville Charter School's community garden. ๐Ÿฅ• ๐ŸŒผ ๐Ÿ…

She was awarded $5,000 for the garden! , BVI, and went to Soulsville to present the award to Sherita.

We cannot wait to see what she, her students and the community do with this garden.
