🔥🚒 Fire Safety Tips for Parents of Preschool Children! 🚒🔥

🔹 Create a Fire Escape Plan: Develop a clear and easy-to-understand fire escape plan with your family. Teach your preschooler how to safely exit the house in case of a fire, identifying primary and secondary escape routes.

🔹 Practice Fire Drills: Regularly practice fire drills with your child to ensure they know what to do in an emergency. Make it a fun and educational activity by using a stopwatch to time their escape and reward their efforts.

🔹 Teach "Stop, Drop, and Roll": Teach your child the essential technique of "Stop, Drop, and Roll" in case their clothes catch fire. Practice this motion so they know how to respond instinctively.

🔹 Install Smoke Detectors: Place smoke detectors on every level of your home, especially near bedrooms. Test them regularly and replace batteries twice a year to ensure they are working properly.

🔹 Educate on Smoke Inhalation: Teach your child about the dangers of smoke inhalation and the importance of staying low to the ground during a fire. Explain that crawling helps them breathe cleaner air and avoid harmful smoke.

It's not just about strapping them in - the seat needs to be the right size and properly installed too! Make sure you choose the right car seat for your child's age and weight, and double-check that it's securely installed in your vehicle before you hit the road. 🚘
Tennessee has specific laws regarding car seats for children. It's important to be aware of these laws to ensure the safety of your little ones. For children under the age of 1 and weighing less than 20 pounds, a rear-facing car seat is required. Children ages 1 to 3 and weighing over 20 pounds must be in a forward-facing car seat with a harness. For children ages 4 to 8 and measuring less than 4'9" tall, a booster seat is required. Remember, these laws are in place to keep your child safe while traveling in a vehicle. Let's make sure our little owls are always protected and follow these laws every time we hit the road! Teacher appreciation week is a special time to recognize and thank educators for their hard work and dedication. It's a chance to celebrate the positive impact they have on students' lives and acknowledge their tireless efforts to make a difference in the world. 🇲🇽Our world is growing increasingly diverse, so it’s important that our children understand the difference between cultural appreciation and appropriation. Appreciation involves learning about and respecting other cultures, while appropriation involves taking aspects of a culture without understanding or acknowledging their significance. Let’s teach our children to appreciate and celebrate diversity while avoiding appropriating it. We invited Mariachi Fiesta to visit for Cinco de Mayo. Today was absolutely amazing! I surprised the staff with lunch from our favorite food truck, the kids with an ice cream truck visit but I was the one really surprised! 🤣 My staff dressed up like me and some of my friends from the Senior class did as well! I am still smiling! Thank you for the birthday love! 🥰

🦁🌴🐘 Calling all Great Expectations explorers! Our theme for this month is “Out in the Wild African Safari” and we couldn’t be more excited! 🌍🐆🦓

Our little learners will go on a journey through the African savannah, encountering majestic creatures such as lions, elephants, and giraffes! 🦒🦏🐘

Through interactive and hands-on activities, we’ll learn about the various habitats, climates, and cultures of Africa. Our little ones will also have a chance to make their own African-inspired crafts and engage in imaginative play as they create their own safari adventures! 🌿🎨🐾

We had to postpone ⛈️ our outdoor Color Explosion activity due to the storms but we brought the Artsy 🎨Thursday fun indoors! Our students spent the morning painting together! Today make sure you pickup your Egg Decorating kit in the lobby! We can’t wait to see what you create for Family Friday!

Today the students of Great Expectations Prep Academy had a traditional Japanese 🇯🇵 lunch and learned to eat with chopsticks! 🥢 They had Chicken Ramen 🍜(ramen noodles,grilled chicken, green onions,boiled egg, bamboo shoots, corn,seaweed, narutomaki(fish paste cake), Edamame, Vegetable Spring Roll, Mandarin Oranges.

Our fearless leader is such an inspiration! Pauletta did not have the need for any college classes. She taught elementary school for years before she retired. She knew our push for this year was NAEYC accreditation, teachers going back to school and setting an example for new teachers we would be onboarding. She wanted to prove it could be done and she did JUST THAT! Thank you for continuously raising the bar and setting the example! ❤️🦉
