MSCS Newcomer International Center

MSCS Newcomer International Center Reach. Empower. Succeed. NIC offers intensive English to recently arrived immigrant teens 14-17 with little to no schooling. We are a two-year program.

Students can earn 14 credits toward their high school diploma. The Newcomer International Center (NIC) is a sheltered English program especially designed for newly arrived immigrant students, ages 14-17. We offer SIFE Literacy, ESL, Science, Math, Social Studies, Art, & PE. NIC is a part of the Shelby County Schools system in Memphis, Tennessee. Students may attend up to two years before transitioning back to traditional high school. NIC partners with local agencies and nonprofits to assist students and their families with adjusting to life in the US. NIC is located in the Cardinal Wing of Wooddale High School. El Newcomer International Center (NIC) es un programa de inglés intensivo para los estudiantes inmigrantes recién llegados a los Estdos Unidos. Aceptamos estudiantes entre 14 y 17 años de edad. Ofrecemos cursos en Lectura, Ingles como Lenguaje Segundo, Ciencias, Matemáticas, Estudios Sociales, Arte y Educación Física. NIC es parte del sistema de Escuelas del Condado de Shelby en Memphis, Tennessee. Los estudiantes pueden asistir hasta dos años antes de la transición a la escuela secundaria tradicional. NIC se asocia con agencias y organizaciones locales para ayudar a los estudiantes y sus familias a adaptarse a la vida en los Estados Unidos. NIC está ubicado en el Ala Cardinal de Wooddale High School.
