MSCS Newcomer International Center
Reach. Empower. Succeed. NIC offers intensive English to recently arrived immigrant teens 14-17 with little to no schooling. We are a two-year program.
Students can earn 14 credits toward their high school diploma. The Newcomer International Center (NIC) is a sheltered English program especially designed for newly arrived immigrant students, ages 14-17. We offer SIFE Literacy, ESL, Science, Math, Social Studies, Art, & PE. NIC is a part of the Shelby County Schools system in Memphis, Tennessee. Students may attend up to two years before transiti
