Presbyterian Day School (PDS) is a private, Christian preschool and elementary school serving boys from 2-years-old through 6th grade.

Founded in 1949, PDS serves approximately 500 boys in grades YK-6th grades. Our academic program centers on the development of critical and creative thinking skills. We train our boys to rese

PDS Band is offered to boys in 5th and 6th grade. The boys receive both small group and full-band instruction under the direction of our outstanding band director, Terry Himebook. Recently the PDS band hit all the right notes at the Memphis Band Solo & Ensemble Competition! Every single PDS entry earned a medal which is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the boys’ hard work. 🎶👏

💠🔬As we wrap up an incredible school year, we’re looking back on some of the exciting learning that took place right up until the final days of school!
Our 4th grade boys stayed busy in science as they explored minerals, crystals, and how they form as part of rock formations. They grew their own crystals using a saturated solution, observed different crystal structures under the microscope and watched their own crystal formations take shape over several days. We encourage you to keep experimenting and asking questions all summer long!

This year, we celebrate two remarkable women whose combined 44 years of service have helped shape generations of PDS boys.
Nancy Gentry spent 20 years inspiring young learners and patiently guiding emerging readers toward success. Darilyn Christenbury devoted 24½ years to nurturing the hearts and faith of countless boys with her gentle spirit, faithful teaching, and deep love for the Lord. Together, Nancy and Darilyn have helped fulfill the mission of PDS by shaping not only young minds but young hearts. Their dedication, compassion and faithful service have strengthened our community in immeasurable ways. We wish you the best in your retirement!

It has been a joy to watch the class of 2026 leave their mark on PDS.
For many of these boys, PDS has been home for almost a decade, from their earliest days in Young Knights to their final walk across the stage as graduates. What a gift it has been to watch them grow up together. We cannot wait to see all they accomplish in middle school and beyond. Once a PDS boy, always a PDS boy! ❤️🎓

Between the BBQs🔥
6th grade begins with the Back-to-School BBQ alongside mentors and ends with the beloved tradition of Rib Day, where napkins are forbidden and white t-shirts are encouraged.
But it is everything in between these two moments that matters most. Throughout the year, the boys grow in their faith and continue the journey from boyhood into young manhood.
At PDS, mentors are male faculty and staff members who walk alongside our 5th and 6th grade boys, building meaningful relationships that encourage and support them during these formative years.

PDS is proud of its longstanding partnership with Berclair Elementary. Throughout the year, our schools come together for meaningful projects and shared experiences.
For the past 20 years, our coaching staff has organized and led Berclair’s Field Day, bringing encouragement and plenty of friendly competition. It’s a day everyone looks forward to, year after year.🎉

Finally, Field Day! ☀️
Our Class of 2020 had their 6th grade year at PDS cut short, missing many of the traditions and moments that make 6th grade so special. In an effort to make up for lost time, our coaches welcomed them back to campus for a senior mini-Field Day before they graduate from their respective high schools. Some things never change, and just like in elementary school, tug-of-war was still the highlight of the day. We are so proud of these soon-to-be graduates and wish them all the best as they head in new directions. No matter where life takes them, PDS will always be cheering them on, and they will always be PDS boys. 💙

🏃A strong finish to an outstanding season for our 6th Grade PDS Crusaders Track Team! Webb Wilson raced his way into the Top 15 in the state of Tennessee in the 400m, with Richard Moore also earning a spot in the Top 100. On the field side, Noah Lytle powered his way into the Top 50 in the state in shot put. Great job boys!
