The 2025 Annual Meeting of the Tennessee Mosquito and Vector Control Association (TMVCA) will be held on January 23-24, 2025, at the Ellington Agricultural Center, The Exhibition Barn, 440 Hogan Rd., Nashville, TN 37220. They will be conducting a Student Competition (award of $500 for winner). Research regarding mosquitoes and other vectors, vector-borne diseases, their control and surveillance, and other arthropods that affect human or animal health may be presented. The Tennessee Entomological Society hosted its 50th Annual Meeting from Oct 9th-10th at the TSU Nursery Research Center. The meeting featured a 50 year review keynote, student present competitions and updates on insects of interest to Tennessee. Thanks to all who attended and we hope to see you again next year.

Paige Costello was recognized at the 50th annual conference of the Tennessee Entomological Society for her National award winning essay yesterday in McMinnville, TN. Presenting her award were Dr. Jennifer Tsuruda, State Extension Apiculturist and Extension Coordinator, and State of Tennessee Apiarist, Mike Struder.
