Calling all Wildcats!
It is that time of year again. I will be having my annual Christmas luncheon for all Wildcats alums from 63-74. It will be held at The Olive Garden at 5689 Poplar Avenue near the 240 Interstate on Friday December 5 beginning at 1 o’clock. I have a room reserved that will accommodate 55-60 people. If you plan to attend, please RSVP as soon as possible. I must have a head count
by December 2nd to allow the restaurant staff accordingly. Looking forward to seeing everyone an hoping all are well and have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Here’s an update for our class. Never take today for granted. It’s been a year of loss for our class as Mike Miller’s video has shown. Treasure our time and friendship with each other. Below is a recap of what’s happened recently.

Later in the day after attending our ‘72 Christmas luncheon, Keith Moore experienced chest pains. His wife wisely drove him to the ER where doctors decided he needed to be admitted and have a stent(s) implanted. Fortunately, that helped and he is still with us. Thanking God for his healing!

The year ended with sad news from a former classmate, Ricky Jody. His wife of many years passed away in the morning of December 31st of cancer that was recently diagnosed. Ricky and Odessa made their home in Houston. Prayers for he and his children go out. (no picture available)

Sadly, shocking news came to us last night, January 1st, that Debbie (Rusty) Hendren Apfel had a heart attack last night and passed away. She had just attended our Christmas luncheon for the first time and said she was going to start coming to them. She celebrated her 49th anniversary with her husband Jerry on 12/31.
Please keep her husband, daughters and their families in your prayers

I should have also mentioned Tom Murrah has been fighting cancer and was recently found to be cancer free! Although, he will be monitored for 5 years to make sure no occurrences happen. It has been a fight for him but we are thankful for God’s healing for him.

Our Christmas lunch is approaching quickly. On Monday, December 9 at 12 noon, we will meet at the Olive Garden, located at 5679 Poplar Ave Suite 1, Memphis, TN 38119. Please RSVP to indicate your attendance. I require a final headcount by this Friday. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there.

The annual Christmas lunch will take place on Monday, December 9, at noon at the Olive Garden on Poplar Avenue. To ensure an accurate headcount, kindly confirm your attendance and any accompanying guests by December 2nd.

We had a beautiful breezy day for our picnic in Shelby Farms. We brought our own lunches and before we ate, a moment of silence was held in memory of our classmates who have died. Donna Opperud Cofer brought a cake to celebrate most of us turning 70 this year! Where has the time gone? The picnic allowed us to float around and visit much longer than at a restaurant. Each time we meet, new stories are shared of our school days bringing much laughter.

We will meet December 9th for our Christmas lunch. Next year, we will only meet once, maybe twice depending on what our classmates want. To those who couldn’t be with us, you are missed but hope these pictures (although poor quality) will keep you updated. Keep spinning your wheels until we see you again!
