Still taking this in…

This moment is a reflection of what’s possible when advocacy meets action when we commit to doing the work for students, with students, and alongside our community.

Honored to serve as the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National High School Associate Principal of the Year, and committed to continuing the work of leading with purpose, advocating boldly, and centering students every step of the way.

There is no AP Jamerson without the people I serve and that will always remain at the center.

Join us in congratulating Shorewood High School Associate Principal, Amanda Jamerson, who was named the 2026 National Assistant Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

The award recognizes exceptional school leaders whose impact extends far beyond their school buildings, and honors those who demonstrate visionary leadership, student-centered innovation and an unwavering commitment to excellence in education.

Sometimes, the clearest memories come in black and white.
📍Memphis gave me everything I didn’t know I needed, live music, a stroll under the city lights on Beale, powerful legacy at the Martyrs park, a walk across the Big River, breathtaking views from The Lookout, whiskey tastings, and pure joy with my TT Mandy babies.
This is the balance that fuels AJAM where joy, culture, and purpose meet.
Memphis will always be my second home. 🖤

This week has been a true reminder of the impact we make in each other’s lives. I am grateful to have been visited by some incredible former students—your growth and continued drive inspire me daily. 🙌🏾💛

Also, a big shout-out to my amazing staff family, whose dedication and passion make all the difference for our students and community. You all are the heartbeat of this work! 💼💖

As AJAM the Advocate, I’m constantly reminded that advocacy starts with connection and commitment. Together, we create the future we hope to see.

Last week, I had the pleasure of serving as a panelist for the CESA #1 Women's Leadership Series. With over 160 women registered, I'm blessed to have been asked to serve as a panelist. God has a way of making everything work together for my good; many years ago, I went through CESA #1 and the Proficiency Based Licensure (PBL) program to gain my license to teach Special Education, so serving on this panel was a full circle moment. The theme of the conversation surrounded women leading the way, with an emphasis on mentorship. I've been blessed to have an amazing mentor who told me in Year 1, as a special education teacher, that I would be an amazing school leader. Years later, I'm blessed and thankful that she planted the seed in me to seek leadership opportunities and continues to provide me with guidance and support. When I told my mentor about the success of the panel, her response was, "Our relationship is God assigned." So thankful for her. Mentorship matters and makes a difference.
