Our eighth graders took the podium today for their “Who Inspires Me?” speeches, sharing stories about the people who have made an impact on their lives.

Myers Biggs spoke about his father’s influence, while Miles Carlisle explored the legacy of former President Theodore Roosevelt. Dylan Conley shared how his brother has inspired him, Charlie Faber highlighted Michael Jordan’s infectious winning mentality, and Charles Smith reflected on the legacy of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.

Civic Service Organization volunteers and Owl runners turned out in force August 29 for the Forrest Spence 5K at Shelby Farms Park. Noah Hinote ’29 took second place in the men’s division. Founded by MUS parents Brittany and David Spence ’97 in honor of their late son, the Forrest Spence Fund is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that assists with the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families throughout the Mid-South. Clubs are officially back!

Owls flocked to Morrison Courtyard to sign up for student-run clubs, with plenty of creativity on display to attract new members. Food for Dudes fired up the grill, Hunters for the Hungry flashed their trophies, and the Yearbook Club gave out donuts!
