In honor of Indigenous People’s Day we encourage you to spend time learning more about the history of the land you occupy. If you’re here in Memphis, visiting one of the many sites on The Trail of Tears National Historic Trail in our city is a great place to start.
Remember, while these sacred sites tell the story of suffering and intolerance, they also tell an equally important story of survival.
Have you placed your order yet? 👀🍿
One of the most common questions asked when prospective families tour our environment is, “If they don’t get grades, what happens after high school?” 🤔…
Admissions officers from and showed up at the today to let us know they’re bought in to competency-based learning models and to the that they often receive with applications. In fact, they find it provides even greater insight to the potential value a student will add to their campus ✨

Sometimes, it really takes a village. This summer, we are building a collaborative village. Kick-off is June 1st, but a village isn't built in a day, so stop by any day this summer.
It’s Happy Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month!
We hosted two beautiful families for tours today and this is one of the topics that came up in our chat. There are many schools that tout diversity based on numbers and demographic data, but very few that hold space for the sharing of lived experiences and identity work.
We are the few.

🔄 Repost from …Black students are subject to cultural identity theft through appropriation and erasure.
For instance, Black students go through their entire K-12 schooling learning about mathematical theorems, formulas and algorithms named after Greek mathematicians but never learn that the majority of those mathematical concepts originated from ancient Kemet, which we now call Egypt.
Unless these students are fortunate enough to come from homes where their parents teach them this invisible history or they go on to study ethnomathematics at the university level, these are facts they will never learn during their K-12 years.
