In honor of the start of NFL season this week, we’re highlighting some of Crestwood’s flag football stars! 🏈

Through our Competitive Sports elective, campers had the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of flag football from specialists, developing their skills, learning the game, and putting it all into action on the field.

While pizza is always a lunchtime favorite at Crestwood, it’s even better when it’s part of a Crestwood Late Night!Our older campers get to keep the fun going with group activities, splashing in the pool, pizza parties, and so much more.

In honor of National Food Bank Day, we’re celebrating our campers’ commitment to giving back! Our Crestwood Leadership Training Program volunteered this summer at the Rudman Family Food Pantry at the Mid-Island Y JCC, helping organize the 741 pounds of food generously donated by Crestwood families.

Our campers learned about the important role food pantries play in supporting our community and helped pack bags for families in need. We are so proud of their compassion, hard work, and commitment to making a difference!

Crestwood’s Competitive Sports Electives Program is designed for campers entering 2nd through 6th Grade who are ready to take their game to the next level. Campers will participate in at least one 1 hour session per week, with additional sessions added as needed. Sports will be scheduled on different days whenever possible so campers can experience more of what Crestwood has to offer without missing the same activities each week. Continue through to learn more about each individual sport we offer!

Our basketball program is led by Hoop Lab trainers, including Coach Matt, a Long Island raised coach and former guard who competed at Nassau Community College and York College (CUNY). With coaching experience across Game 7, Baldwin Bruins, Hoop Group, and Hoop Lab, Coach Matt focuses on confidence, decision making, pace, skill, and basketball IQ.

Get ready for an intensive flag football experience led by Ray Saper, head of the Roslyn Flag Football League and New Syosset Flag Football League (and a former Crestwood camper)! Campers will develop their skills, learn the game, and compete under the guidance of an experienced league coach.

Take your skills to the next level in Soccer with Mike Branker, director if player development for Plainview-Old Bethpage Soccer Club and owner of Alliance Athletics Inc. His company provides private soccer training and runs youth soccer camps.

Even though it’s been over a week, we still can’t stop thinking about what an incredible time we had at this year’s Crestwood Games! From the team spirit and competitive games to all the fun and unforgettable moments, those three days of camp flew by way too fast. Already wishing we could go back and do it all over again!
