πŸŽ‰πŸŒΎ Kansas FFA State Convention – Day 3 & Convention Wrap-Up πŸŒΎπŸŽ‰

Friday marked the final day of the Kansas FFA State Convention, and what a great way to finish an incredible week! πŸ’™πŸ’›

During the 5th General Session, Mady Rose and Landon represented our chapter as they accepted our chapter's Gold Level National Chapter Award. πŸ† This recognition reflects the hard work, dedication, and commitment of all of our members throughout the year.

At the 6th General Session, seven of our members earned the highest degree that the Kansas FFA Association can bestow upon its membersβ€”the State FFA Degree. ⭐ Congratulations to Taytum, Kate, Ella, Landon, Mady, and Trae, who proudly walked across the stage to receive their Golden Charm. Ty also earned his State Degree but was unable to attend convention. This is a tremendous accomplishment and a testament to the hard work, leadership, and dedication these members have shown throughout their FFA careers.

Landon also had the opportunity to take the stage as a finalist for the Gator drawing. 🚜 While he didn't bring home the grand prize, it was still an exciting moment and a fun experience!

To wrap up convention, we were able to watch Greyson perform one last time with the State FFA Band. 🎢 The band did an outstanding job throughout the week, and we are proud of the work and dedication he put into representing our chapter.

Convention is always a fun, memorable, and exhausting week, but our members represented the MdCV FFA Chapter with dignity, professionalism, leadership, and pride. One of the things we hear time and time again is amazement at what our small chapter can accomplish. While some chapters have 100, 200, or even 250 members, our chapter of just 35 members continues to compete, lead, and succeed alongside the very best in Kansas. 🌟

No matter the size of the chapter, leadership, hard work, and heart make all the difference. Our members proved that again this week.πŸ’ͺ

πŸͺžAs convention comes to a close, I want to take a moment to recognize three young ladies who have meant so much to our chapter and to me personally as an advisorβ€”Ella, Taytum, and Kate. ❀️

When I arrived as their advisor three years ago, these girls didn't hesitate for a second. They jumped in, got to work, and helped build a culture of leadership, service, and excellence. They embraced new ideas, challenged themselves, and often took my ideas and made them even better. Their leadership has been a major reason our chapter is where it is today.πŸ’―

They have led by example, mentored younger members, and helped create opportunities that will benefit our chapter long after they graduate. It won't be the same without them, and their shoes will be difficult to fill. While I am going to miss having them in our chapter, I am incredibly thankful for the impact they have left on our members, our program, and on me personally as an advisor. Watching them grow into the leaders they are today has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. πŸ’™πŸ’›

We are incredibly proud of every member who attended convention. Thank you for representing MdCV FFA so well and for showing that great things can come from small schools with big hearts, strong work ethics, and a commitment to making a difference. πŸ’™πŸŒΎπŸ’›

πŸŒΎπŸ’™ Day 2 at the 98th Annual Kansas FFA Association Convention was another great one for MdCV FFA! πŸ’›πŸŒΎ

Today, two of our 8th grade members, Hailey Fine and Braxtyn Sturgeon, traveled to Manhattan to compete in the People in Agriculture Contest! πŸ‘

🌱 For the contest, members interviewed six different people about their careers in agriculture, created a poster over what they learned, and presented their findings in front of judges. Both girls did an outstanding job, and we are incredibly proud of the work they put in!

πŸ… During the afternoon session, we were excited to learn that Hailey Fine earned an impressive 4th Place Overall finish! Congratulations, Hailey! πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸŽ“ Bella Reeser was also recognized during the session as she took the stage to receive her WLC Scholarship awarded by Emily Lehning and family. What an incredible accomplishment!

🎢 This evening, we had the opportunity to hear Greyson perform with the State FFA Band, and he absolutely rocked it! Great job representing MdCV FFA on the big stage! 🎷πŸ₯πŸŽΊ

🎬 We also had the awesome opportunity to go backstage and meet a VIP MdCV FFA Alumni, Lori Harlan!

Lori, along with her husband and daughter, helps produce the lights, videos, and sound for the Kansas FFA Convention each year. Our members got a behind-the-scenes tour and were able to see everything that goes into making convention such an incredible experience for thousands of FFA members across the state.

Lori is a great example of how the leadership, friendships, and experiences gained through FFA can impact your life forever. πŸ’™πŸ’› Thank you, Lori, for the tour and for everything you do for Kansas FFA!

We also learned that our very own Landon Reed was named a finalist for the John Deere Gator giveaway!

πŸ”₯ We capped off the night at Ignite the Night at the rec center, where members joined over 1,000 other FFA members from across the state for games, activities, and lots of fun! πŸŽ‰πŸ€πŸŽ―

Another awesome day filled with leadership, learning, and memories! We can’t wait for the final day of convention tomorrow! πŸ’™πŸ’›

πŸŒΎπŸ’™πŸ’› The 98th Annual Kansas FFA Association State Convention is officially underway! πŸ’›πŸ’™πŸŒΎ

Members of the MdCV FFA Chapter traveled to Manhattan to take on an exciting first day at convention!

🎢 This morning, Greyson participated in his second rehearsal for the State FFA Band.

🎀 We also had three members compete in State Leadership Development Events today:

⭐ Kate Patterson competed in a very tough Prepared Public Speaking room and represented our chapter extremely well!
⭐ Mady Rose competed in Employability Skills and narrowly missed advancing out of a stacked finals group.
⭐ Camille Davis made chapter history as the FIRST MdCV FFA member to compete in the Spanish FFA Creed Contest! While she did not advance, she received high praise from the judges for her performance.

πŸ—³οΈ Bella Reeser and Rorie Ford proudly served as our chapter delegates and experienced the delegate process throughout the day.

πŸ‘ Landon Reed, Dalton Lingenfelter, and Jordyn served as members of the Courtesy Corps, helping run State LDE events.

πŸŽͺ Other members enjoyed exploring the Opportunity Fair and vendor booths before we all attended the opening session of the 98th Annual Kansas FFA Convention this evening inside Morgan Arena!

We are incredibly proud of how our members represented MdCV FFA today through leadership, professionalism, and hard work! πŸ’™πŸ’›
πŸ“Έ Stay tuned tomorrow for more convention updates!

We are excited to announce that our chapter has been recognized as a Gold Level Chapter through the National Chapter Award program! While we were not selected in the Top 10, being named a Gold Level Chapter is still an incredible accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our members throughout the year.
This week, three of our members represented our chapter during the interview portion of the award process. A huge thank you to Kate Patterson, Ella Reed, and Mady Rose for doing an outstanding job representing our chapter, school, and community.
We are proud of all that our members have accomplished this year and thankful for the support from our school, parents, alumni, and community that helps make these opportunities possible.

Today members of the MdCV FFA Chapter had the opportunity to help with Osage County Day on the Farm, where 4th grade students from across the county came to learn more about agriculture. πŸŒΎπŸ“
Our group focused on farm and livestock safety, teaching students how to safely handle animals and demonstrating equipment that can be used when working with livestock. Members talked about proper handling techniques and showed items like saddles, halters, combs, and other tools used around the farm.
To make things even more exciting, we brought along several animals including chickens, horses, ponies, and even a donkey! The students loved getting to see the animals up close and ask questions.
It was a great day sharing agriculture with the next generation and helping them learn more about where their food and fiber come from.
And as a bonus… our FFA President rode her first horse today β€” even if it was a pony! πŸ˜†πŸ΄
