Bill Adams Karate Bill Adams' Uechi Karate offers classes in a traditional style of Okinawan Karate. We have classes for ages 4 and above, teens and adults.

Our method of martial arts instruction puts emphasis on cooperative development rather than peer competition. Everyone enjoys the camaraderie, exercise and stress relief studying Uechi-Ryu Karate. Our style's emphasis on technique over strength makes it a style suited to all ages and both genders. le having fun! Our school is one of the 14 schools making up the Uechi-Ryu Butokukai. The Butokukai (translated as “a gathering to study the virtues of the martial arts”), is certified by and maintains direct links to the Uechi-Ryu organization in Okinawa. Bill Adams began his Uechi Karate studies in 1975 and is currently a Fifth Degree Black Belt.

Brian Murphy, a 5th Degree Black belt at the Melrose Dojo, passed away this week. He will always be remembered for his dedication to the art and his fellow practitioners. He can be seen in one of these photos mentoring the children of our school. He can also be seen in one of these pictures for his personal Uechi stunt - breaking a baseball bat! He will be missed.
