Eileen Christiansen, mezzo-soprano + voice teacher Eileen Christiansen is a classically trained mezzo-soprano and voice teacher, specializing in concert and oratorio solo work, opera, and art song.

Eileen Christiansen performs throughout the New England region as a freelance mezzo-soprano, working as a concert soloist, an opera performer, and a song leader in church and cathedral settings. Eileen is a singing actor, placing as much emphasis in her performances on careful communication of the text as well as beauty of sound. She loves tackling complex character roles that range from the warmly maternal, to the boldly heroic, to the deeply villainous and misunderstood. Eileen also enjoys collaborating with living composers and chamber musicians in recital performances. She sings from the heart. Eileen leads a flourishing vocal studio in Melrose, MA that serves beginning to intermediate level students who range in age from middle school students to adult learners. As a teacher, Eileen focuses on developing healthy technique and musical expression in classical, musical theater, and pop/folk styles. She also provides instruction to increase sight singing and aural skills, to improve presentation in auditions and competitions, and to prepare high school students for undergraduate level auditions.
