Jackson County Fair was a huge success for our FFA members and all Melrose-Mindoro students who exhibited this week! These kids truly know how to work, and their dedication, responsibility, and determination were on full display throughout the fair.

We couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them and all they accomplished. Congratulations on a great week, and best of luck to those heading to the Wisconsin State Fair! We’re cheering you on! 💙💛

Melrose-Mindoro students and FFA members had a very successful (and very warm!) week at the La Crosse Interstate Fair.

One of the best parts about our county fair is that it is so much more than animals and livestock. From Legos and woodworking to flowers, honey, photography, baking, and so many other exhibits, there are opportunities for youth and adults to showcase their talents, creativity, and hard work. That is what makes county fairs so special!

The county fair is more than ribbons. It teaches responsibility, communication, sportsmanship, perseverance, and resilience. Students learn how to celebrate their accomplishments, accept disappointments, and continue growing. For many livestock exhibitors, fair week also ends with the bittersweet feeling of saying goodbye and wrapping up months of hard work.

No matter the placing, we are incredibly proud of every Melrose-Mindoro student who exhibited this week. Thank you for representing our school, our FFA chapter, and our community so well. Congratulations on a fantastic fair. We cannot wait to see what you accomplish in the years to come!

‼️ We are looking for FOUR more volunteers to help scoop ice cream in the Dairy Bar at the La Crosse County Fair on Wednesday, July 15, from 11:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

🍦 This opportunity directly supports our FFA chapter by helping fund incentive trips, CDE fees, chapter T-shirts, meals, and more. These opportunities are only possible because of members who are willing to step up and volunteer.

Officer Retreat!

Our officer team spent three days planning the upcoming year, bonding as a team, and preparing to serve our chapter to the best of our ability.
During our retreat, we had the opportunity to visit the La Crosse FFA agriculture department, where advisors Brooks Lueck and Jared Mikkelson gave us a tour of their classrooms and impressive new greenhouse. We also toured the Genoa Fish Hatchery, where we learned about their operations and got to see a variety of fascinating aquatic species.
A huge thank you to Brooks Lueck and Jared Mikkelson for welcoming us and sharing your agriculture program with us. We also want to thank the Genoa Fish Hatchery staff for the informative tour and for giving us a behind-the-scenes look at your facility.
We accomplished a lot over these three days, and we're excited for everything this year has in store. We are confident this team is ready to serve our members, our school, and our community!

🚜 Congratulations to the 21 Jackson County students who dedicated part of their summer to completing Tractor Safety Certification! 👏

After 24 hours of instruction, hands-on practice, a written exam, and a driving test, each student successfully earned their certificate.

The class was hosted in Black River Falls and coordinated by the agriculture instructors from Black River Falls, Lincoln-Alma Center-Humbird-Merrillan, and Melrose-Mindoro.

Throughout the course, students learned about tractor operation, workplace hazards, safely operating SMVs on farms and roadways, electrical hazards such as power lines, accident response, and many other important safety topics.
