History:
In 2005, Iglesia El Verbo de Dios in Melrose Park, IL opened the Word of God Christian Academy (WGCA). WGCA was opened in order to provide quality Christian education to children of the congregation and nearby community. The goal at WGCA is not to reform, but to train young people to value self-discipline, individual responsibility, personal integrity, good citizenship, and respect for th
ose in authority (Parents, School, Government, etc.). Curriculum:
WGCA uses Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.) curriculum, which is a series of paces students work through individually. Whether the student is a high achiever or a moderate paced learner, the A.C.E. program begins at the exact level determined by the child’s ability, and students are able to work through self-instructional, mastery-based curriculum. To find out more, visit aceministries.com. We operate with two classrooms, a combined Kindergarten-1st Grade class which works on teaching basic principles from a Christian perspective, and prepares students on how to work individually starting in 2nd Grade. The Learning Center begins at 2nd grade and goes through High School. Students work at their own level, moving through grades based on their skill and knowledge level. If you have any questions, please reach out to Valentin Chavez - Academy Director and principal.
