Gratz College has hit "refresh" on its teen programs! 💪

We have transitioned from "Gratz Academy" to "Gratz College: Undergraduate and Dual Enrollment Programs." We offer the same impactful programming that we always have—now with a committed focus on dual enrollment/college credit for high school juniors and seniors.

The 2024-2025 season is gearing up. We encourage you to check out our website and dual enrollment course catalogue and pre-register for one (or more) of six exciting courses relevant to current events today. These courses are ideal for students looking to fill college general education requirements in humanities, history, and world 🌎 languages. These unique courses are not available elsewhere for dual enrollment.

Don't forget our ongoing Hebrew language courses. (Gratz has taught Hebrew since our founding in 1895!)

Students who complete our online pre-registration form guarantee their place in the course. In addition, public school students in partner districts (more information on our website) can receive a full scholarship for the courses they enroll in on a "first come, first served basis". All courses award 3 undergraduate level credits transferable to another accredited college or university upon successful completion.

The Gratz Academy experience can best be told by one of our current students David.

“Being Jewish has always been a big part of my life, growing up going to synagogue many times a month and attending a Jewish day school, Hillel Academy of Tampa, from Kindergarten up until eighth grade. I was a part of my synagogue's youth group and USY, but I felt like I wanted more out of my Jewish experience, so we found Gratz Academy. At first, I was a little hesitant, as I had never taken a class like this before, but from the first Zoom meeting, I knew that I would enjoy it. Dr. Vinokor-Meinrath is an amazing teacher who creates great lessons. The class I am currently taking is Antisemitism and the Modern Jewish Experience and the class material is amazing along with my teacher and other classmates. We partake in lengthy, thought-provoking discussions that have really gotten me thinking about my Jewish identity, and I am so glad that I decided to take this course.”

Jewish Geography: Understand World Jewish Communities

Sundays, 9:30- 10:30 a.m. ET

n this course students will explore the history and cultures of a variety of world Jewish communities including the Sephardic and Mizrachi communities, the Jews of Yemen, Ethiopia, Kaifeng China and more. We will hear their music, see their artifacts and taste the foods that have enriched the Jewish world.

Differences of opinion, argument, debate, and the exchange of ideas are all part of a healthy democracy or any civil society. In this course students will explore the ethics of language and civic discourse, apply rabbinic teachings about civic discourse to current religious and political disputes.

Available for college credit!
