Loved ones and supporters gathered in Sarasota to honor the late Cathy Jordan, a pillar in Florida's medical cannabis movement. As the immediate past president of the Florida Cannabis Action Network (FLCAN), Cathy dedicated her life to advocating for safe and affordable access to medical cannabis.

*Q: How did Cathy Jordan impact the fight for medical cannabis?*
Jodi James, FLCAN's current president, reflects on Cathy's legacy: "There is energy and healing to this plant, and people having access to it was Cathy's mission. When people looked at Cathy, they saw a woman in a wheelchair. But the Cathy I worked with was quick-witted and had a fabulous memory. I got to be Cathy's partner in politics and pranks for the last 27 years."

🌱 **Cathy's Journey:**
- Diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in her 30s, Cathy turned to cannabis to alleviate her symptoms.
- She moved to Florida from Delaware in 1989 after experiencing positive effects from a strain called Myakka Gold.
- Cathy co-founded FLCAN and played a pivotal role in efforts to legalize medical cannabis.
