Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, along with the first responders, service members and countless Americans whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, the images and stories from that day still carry tremendous weight.

Take a moment today to remember those we lost, honor those who ran toward danger and reflect on the strength our country showed in the days that followed.

We will never forget.

One thing I’ve learned is that there’s really no “one-size-fits-all” way to carry.

What works great for one person might be uncomfortable or completely impractical for someone else depending on your body type, what you wear, what you do for work, and how you move throughout the day.

IWB, appendix, pocket carry, off-body — they all have their pros and cons. And sometimes it takes a little trial and error to figure out what actually works best for you.

That’s why I wanted to share this free guide from the USCCA. The Top 5 CCW Setups Guide breaks down the different carry methods, what to consider with each one, and who they may work best for.

If you carry regularly — or you’re still trying to figure out the setup that feels right — it’s worth checking out.

Heading back to school is a good time to make sure safety is part of the conversation at home.

Talk with your kids about staying aware of their surroundings, knowing which adults they can trust, having an emergency plan and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right.

Those conversations don’t have to be complicated, but they can help your kids make smarter decisions when you’re not there.

USCCA has some practical back-to-school safety tips worth reviewing with your family:

A go-bag isn’t about expecting the worst. It’s about being ready when you don’t have time to prepare.

Water. First aid. Flashlight. Backup power. Important documents. A few essentials that can make a big difference when plans suddenly change.

Take a few minutes this week to check your bag, replace anything expired and make sure everyone in your household knows the plan.

Preparedness starts before the emergency.
