What is HIPPY?!

Our HIPPY program is a FREE kindergarten-readiness program for children ages 2–4 in Fulton & Izard Counties. Throughout the year, families receive books, fun hands-on activities, supplies, and support through home visits—all designed to help children build the skills and confidence they need for Kindergarten.

But HIPPY isn't just about getting ready for school! We create opportunities for our families to learn, play, connect, and have fun together through group meetings and special events.

Our recent Back-to-School Bash is the perfect example! Our HIPPY children received backpacks, enjoyed a pizza party, and rotated through fun learning stations where they were building important early childhood skills all while playing and having fun!

From books and home activities, to group events, hands-on learning, and family connections, we are here to support parents as their child's first teacher.

We are so excited for another year of HIPPY and all the adventures ahead! 🚀

🌟 NAESC Early Childhood Special Education at the 2026 ASEP Conference! 🌟

Our NAESC Early Childhood Special Education staff had a wonderful day of learning and inspiration at the 2026 ASEP Conference in Conway on August 19! We were fortunate to hear from two outstanding presenters, Cody Clark and Dr. Clarissa Willis, who each brought a unique and powerful perspective to the field of early childhood education and inclusion.

🎩 Cody Clark shared his inspiring journey as an autistic individual and his experiences growing up after being told he would never walk, talk, have a job, get married, and more. Cody has defied those expectations while developing a deep understanding and empathy for the autism community. Through a unique blend of magic, storytelling, theatre, stand-up comedy, classic country music, and autism advocacy, Cody delivered a presentation that was both entertaining and thought-provoking.

📚 Dr. Clarissa Willis inspired us with her expertise in creating inclusive early childhood classrooms that support neurodivergent learners. Her presentation provided valuable insight into building environments where every child can participate, learn, and thrive while helping educators better understand and reduce challenging behaviors.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and bring new ideas back to the children, families, and educators we serve. ❤️
