🔬 Science Trio

⏰ Mondays August 10 - May 10th (36 weeks)
10:00-11:00 am
Ages 11-15 $500

🧪 This engaging, year-long course will explore the disciplines of Earth Science, Physical Science, and Life Science. Students will build foundational knowledge across disciplines while examining real-world issues and conducting hands-on investigations.

🌍 Earth Science
Discover the universe beyond our planet as you learn about stars, galaxies, our solar system, and the structure of the universe. Dive into ecology—the study of how living things interact with their environment—and explore pressing environmental challenges such as acid rain, recycling, global warming, pollution, and ocean acidification. Analyze the impact of human activity on the Earth and consider sustainable solutions for a healthier planet.

⚛️ Physical Science
Uncover the principles that govern the physical world. Topics include motion, force, energy, work, electricity, magnetism, waves, sound, and light. You'll also investigate the properties of matter—such as states of matter, boiling and melting points, density, mass, volume, conductivity, and solutions—while developing a strong understanding of how these concepts apply to everyday life.

🧬 Life Science
Explore the fascinating science of genetics and heredity. Learn about chromosomes, DNA, genes, and Mendel’s groundbreaking experiments. Understand how dominant and recessive traits are passed down, explore genetic disorders and mutations, and use Punnett Squares to predict genotypes and gene expression. Students will also investigate ecosystems, endangered species, and the flow of energy through living systems. Discussions will address critical issues, including habitat loss, poaching, pollution, and conservation efforts.
