No Limits Academy believes that God has created all things. We believe that God has prepared beforehand, great things to work out in the life of every individual (Ephesians 2:10). im. There is no physical, mental or emotional disability that can impede the work of God’s Spirit. We believe that God does not limit His power based on physical attributes (Mark 10:27). We are humbled (Philippians 2:10) to know that every life has limitless potential in God’s plan (Philippians 4:13, Ephesians 3:20). No Limits Academy considers every student to be a vibrant, purpose filled individual, deserving respect, love and encouragement (1st Thessalonians 5:9-14). The Bible teaches that parents are not only responsible for the upbringing of their children, but also that they should be honored for that authority (Ephesians 6:1-3). No Limits Academy is a parent friendly school. We seek to honor parents by nourishing the student’s understanding of Godly authority. The Bible teaches that a true leader serves others (Matthew 18:1-4, 20:26-28). Our teachers believe that every student is important and worthy of our service. Every student is an individual, having specific needs and a specific style of communication. Our teachers are responsible to recognize these individual traits and provide a learning environment that encourages mental, emotional and physical wellbeing. We also believe that technology is a blessing that allows our students to cross physical boundaries. Every student is given the resources to creatively express themselves and grasp knowledge. In this environment, our teachers help every student to understand that they are valued by God and fully capable of achieving academic excellence.

What does a day in the life of a Therapeutic Educator actually look like? 💙

We're starting a new series to take you behind the scenes at No Limits Academy, and we're kicking things off with Miss Jordyn!

From planning lessons and preparing AAC materials, to supporting positioning and transfers, teaching, co-teaching, collaborating and learning with therapists, and continuing her own professional learning… there is a lot that happens before the classroom doors close at the end of the day.

But underneath all of it is something much simpler: A desire to make a difference in the lives of her students.

In her fourth year at No Limits Academy, Jordyn is heading into this school year with a goal to bring joy, laughter, and choice into her classroom. 💙

What if we stopped asking, “How do we get this student to participate?” and started asking, “What can we change to create access?”

During a body parts lesson, Miss Savannah noticed something about Lorelai: she seeks sensory input through her feet.
So instead of working around that need, the team worked with it.

Lorelai felt the brush, had her foot painted, and made a footprint while learning about a body part. Then the lesson naturally moved into communication.

Miss Marissa modeled “yellow” on her Tobii Dynavox AAC device using TD Snap. And then Lorelai showed us that she understood. She reached up and selected “yellow” herself. 💛

What might look like a simple sensory activity was actually so much more:
🦶 Sensory input
🧠 Learning through experience
🎨 Connecting an experience to a concept
💬 AAC modeling
🗣️ An opportunity to communicate
✨ A student actively participating in her learning

The lesson didn't have to change. The pathway to the lesson did. This is Therapeutic Education.

We don't believe students should have to fit the way we've always taught. We believe we can change the approach to create access.

Jose was quite happy to deliver Mya her award! 🤩

Mya earned Team Member of the Month! We appreciate her faith in each and every one of our students and her dedication to our Core Values as one of our Teacher Assistants! 💙

💙 What she loves about her job - NLA is my second home. I love the techniques of the method. I apply them in my own home, work never feels like work and there is always space to do better and be better for these kids. My coworkers are literally my family. We pray together, we laugh together, we cry together as we devote our time to these kids. Sorry to say this job is easy peasy, I wouldn't trade and there is always room to grow in house. .
😊 What she does for fun – Outside of school I am always on 100. I enjoy hanging with my kids and family, I love music and I love dancing. Church is my safe space. I enjoy comedy shows. I love turtles, I have 4 named Carl Carla Ben and Jerry. I love singing and I’m actually a pretty good cook–a little bit about

When we think about accessibility at home, it's easy to focus on individual spaces.
An accessible bathroom.
An accessible entrance.
An accessible pool area.

But sometimes the most important part isn't the individual space, it's how those spaces connect.

In Laura's home, the guest bathroom provides a convenient route between the house and the pool. A large pocket door opens the bathroom into the hallway, and the bathroom provides access to the outdoor pool area.

And from Cheyne's room, there's a seamless transition directly onto the pool deck.

For Matt, these aren't “accessibility features” he has to think about every time he wants to move through his home. They're simply the way his home works. And yes, sometimes Loki has places to be too. 🐕❤️

Because accessibility isn't just about entering a space. It's about being able to participate in the life happening within it.

Miss Jordyn has started a new tradition in her classroom this year, celebrating a student each month for the unique ways they contribute to their classroom community.

This month, Carlos was chosen for:
💬 Answering on his AAC device - using his voice to communicate and participate in lessons.
🙋 Class participation - engaging with his teachers and classmates and being an active part of the classroom.
😊 Always smiling - bringing his joy and personality into the room each day.

We love celebrating accomplishments big and small, because progress doesn't always look the same for every student. Sometimes it's a new communication skill. Sometimes it's participating in a lesson. Sometimes it's simply the joy a student brings to the people around them.
