Free Summer Meals for Students

Brevard Public Schools is pleased to offer free breakfast and lunch meals to all children ages 18 and younger this summer. Please note that meals must be consumed by the child onsite. Serving days and times may be adjusted based on staffing and resources available. The Summer BreakSpot website will post a list of all summer feeding locations in our area. You may access the information at www.summerbreakspot.com starting June 1, 2022.

As we begin preparing for the next school year, we want to ensure a timely ordering process and smooth delivery of all your uniform needs.



All orders placed and fully paid until June 12th, 2022 will be ready for pick up at West Melbourne School for Science on your respective registration day in August 2022.



Orders placed after June 12th, 2022 may see delays with some items due to inventory and shipping concerns still left over from Covid-19. Nonetheless, rest assured, we will strive to have all items delivered in a timely manner.

Good Afternoon WMSS Parents, Students, Faculty and Staff,

Welcome to the last week of school for the 21-22 school year! How exciting!!! We had so many exciting activities this past week with Mrs. Villanueva conducting Chorus concerts, 2nd grade and Kindergarten Concerts, Kona Ice coming to celebrate our iReady Growth and celebrating Deputy Humes for her years of Service as an SRO. We are so fortunate at WMSS to have amazing teachers, Front Office Staff, Custodial Staff, Before and Afterschool staff and Cafeteria Staff. It truly does take a village and WMSS lives that phrase each and every day!!!

Exciting activities and Celebrations for sure and our last week of school is no different. Make a note of what’s happening and some “to do” items:

Tomorrow May 23rd is WMSS’ first Field Day! Thank you so much for all the registered volunteers who signed up to help us run the events. We look forward to seeing you soon! If you are a registered volunteer and still want to help, please contact Mrs. Floyd in the front office. Field Day is also our last full school day! Dismissal is at 3:30 PM.

What to wear for Field Day?

Sunscreen (Apply generously at home)
Hats
Sunglasses
Bring towels
Bring a water bottle to carry with you (with Name on it). We will have a water station for all to quench their thirst.
Wear comfortable running clothes that can get wet (Girls, if wearing bathing suits, must be covered by shorts and a shirt at all times. Boys may wear swim shorts but must have a T-shirt on at all times).
Running shoes that can get wet. Water shoes are fine as long as they have rubber bottoms and students are comfortable running in them.
Change of dry clothes and dry shoes (No Flip Flops or Sandals).
**Please follow these requirements as we want all our students to be safe and having fun!



Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (5/24, 5-25 and 5/26) are all Early Release Days. Dismissal at 2:15 PM.

Wednesday Evening, we will be celebrating our 6th grade Shooting Stars who are heading on to greater horizons of Middle School. This will be a wonderful and bittersweet night as we send off our WMSS Leaders, Role Models and families. We will miss you but wish you the best that life has to offer you always! 😊 We are proud of you!!

Thursday 5/26 is our last day of school. To celebrate, let’s have a NO UNIFORM DAY!!! (And the crowd goes wild!!!) 😊 Students may wear clothing that meets the BPS Dress Code. Also, Report Cards will be posted in Focus. If you are wanting a hard copy, please contact your child's teacher. We will be happy to accommodate you.

I can’t express fully my gratitude to all our parents, students, faculty, and staff. You all have made this year exciting, amazing and completely fulfilling for me. I am in awe and can’t wait to see what the future holds for all of our Shooting Star Families.
