Number one, you have to identify the belief.
And understand: is this really true?
It may have been true at one point in your life, but at today’s date and today’s time, is this belief still honestly true?
Then identify its origin.
Who taught me this? Was it directly stated or indirectly demonstrated?
Then examine the evidence.
Facts. Not feelings.
Then identify the cost, because a belief is going to cost you something.
And finally, develop a believable replacement.
