Welcome Bori to the Country Cottage Family!
Bori was once part of a classroom environment but was sadly abandoned at his school when summer break began. He was left without care for over a month until he was fortunately discovered. Thanks to the incredible foster volunteers and the dedicated team at LibertyLand Axolotl Rescue, Bori was lovingly nursed back to health.
We have built a wonderful relationship with Libertyland, and they reached out to ask if we would be interested in Bori becoming part of our classroom family. If you know us, then you know we couldn't say no.
This afternoon Bori moved into his new home, where he has become tankmates with Einstein. He's settling in beautifully and has already enjoyed a nice, full belly of worms.
We're so excited for our children to learn about compassion, responsibility, and caring for living things with the addition of Bori to our classroom community.
A huge thank you to LibertyLand Axolotl Rescue for everything they do to give animals like Bori a second chance and for trusting us with the care of this special guy. Welcome home, Bori!

Friday's End-of-the-Year Family Picnic was a day filled with laughter, celebration, happy memories, and, as always, a few bittersweet emotions as we marked the end of another incredible school year. Our hearts are filled with gratitude and so much love for our Country Cottage families. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us, all the families that shared coolers, the Connolly Family for the water donation,Mystic Aquarium for joining us,PJ's Smoke "N" Grill for cooking us lunch right here in our parking lot, Brett and Monica for the chips and bringing us the ice that was so graciously donated from Mickey Cassidys.

We are especially touched by the generosity of the families of our Graduating Preschool Class of 2026. We truly cannot put into words how grateful we are for the beautiful playhouse you gifted to us. It will become a treasured part of the village we are creating on our playground and will provide years of imaginative play, laughter, and memories for the children who call Country Cottage home.
As we reflect on another wonderful school year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the families who trust us with their children each day. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for being such an important part of our Country Cottage Family.

A little update on our Save The Flytrap Mission.
Our preschool friends mission has started to grow! We are so grateful to the following businesses for helping support the children’s mission:

Rocky's Ace Hardware Milford
Trader Joe's Milford
Walmart Whitinsville
As always a special thank you to our flytrap mentor Ron Dudek.
The children are incredibly excited knowing their work is reaching beyond the classroom and helping others learn about these amazing plants.

Our little project is reaching new heights! We have a QR code for our care cards and this too!

Working on things for our Poison Garden… and suddenly we have a mission! After reading a book about proper care of Venus flytraps by Ron Dudek, the children decided… they need saving. So now we’re on a SAVE THE FLYTRAP mission! We rescued two from Walmart and the children are making care cards (decorated by them!) to help others keep them alive.

Even better—Trader Joe's in Milford is letting us put the childrens instructions out with their plants. We are hoping to get other stores on board.

Help our initiative. If you see any stores selling Venus flytraps let us know where or better yet while in the store ask the manager if they would be willing to support our mission.

Wizard Camp Magic
Our school age adventurers had an enchanting time creating their own drinkable potions! Using a fruit press, the children mixed up magical ingredients like:
Spark melon (lemon)
Blood seeds from a Devil Toad’s eye (pomegranate)
A sprinkling of fairy dust, life powder, and a few top secret ingredients…..
Bringing their creativity and imagination to life in the most tasty and magical way.

After being honored with the award for Best Summer Camp, I took a closer look at our website—and realized it didn’t truly reflect who we are or our program philosophy.

So, as a very non-tech person, I stepped outside my comfort zone and created a new one myself—something that better captures the play-based, curiosity-driven environment we create for children every day.
