About the Instructor:
Tyler J. Martin (he/him) is a Cleveland-based director, actor, vocalist, and educator. Tyler earned his BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). Direction: The Wedding Singer (The Brecksville Theatre), BCT Unplugged (Buckeye Community Theatre). Vocal Direction: 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (CCM Musical Theatre). Professional theatre: A Christmas Carol (Alabama Shakespeare Festival), Into the Woods (The Carnegie), RENT (The Carnegie), and George Remus: A New Musical (The Carnegie; World Premiere). Concerts: The Best of Broadway and Sanctuary: A New Musical in Concert (both at Feinstein’s 54 Below—NYC). In addition to his artistic work, Tyler is a passionate educator. He serves on the faculty of the Baldwin Wallace Community Arts School (BWCAS), where he teaches private lessons in musical theatre and acting. He also holds a full-time position with Cuyahoga Community College’s (Tri-C) Educational Talent Search Program—a federally funded college-access initiative that supports potential first-generation college students in grades 6–12. Tyler is currently pursuing his Master of Education degree at Ohio University and plans to graduate in the spring of 2027.
