What an incredible day of music, movement, and connection at Onebridge Center! 🎵💙

We recently welcomed Mary from Music Izz Groovy for a wonderful music therapy experience. Mary began and ended the session with songs that encouraged everyone to sing along, and many of our participants happily joined in!

Throughout the session, participants worked together in fun group activities, creating waves with a large sheet and moving a rope side to side to the rhythm of the music. Mary also introduced a variety of instruments, demonstrating each one before giving everyone the chance to explore and play.

One of the most meaningful moments was seeing participants relax, engage, and come alive through music. Whether it was singing, drumming, or discovering a favorite instrument, each person found their own way to connect and express themselves.

To make the experience more comfortable and engaging, participants were divided into smaller groups, allowing everyone the opportunity to fully participate.

Thank you to Mary and Music Izz Groovy for providing such a positive and enriching experience for our participants. 🎶

Our participants enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors exploring Brandywine Falls, one of Ohio’s most stunning natural landmarks. The 65-foot terraced waterfall provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with fresh air, exercise, and community connection.

After spending time taking in the scenery and enjoying the trails, the group stopped at Dairy Queen for lunch and some well-earned treats.

Community outings like these help participants build social skills, strengthen friendships, and experience all that our local communities have to offer. We love creating opportunities to learn, connect, and explore together!

Last week, we told you about DigiSkills. This week, we're showing you what it looks like in action!

One of the important skills participants work on is typing and keyboarding. Through practice and determination, one of our participants recently achieved a typing speed of more than 50 words per minute!

That's a big accomplishment and a great example of how small improvements can lead to big results.

Think you could beat 50 WPM? Let us know your typing speed in the comments!

Digital literacy is no longer a specialized skill; it is a baseline requirement for participation in modern work and daily life.

The DigiSkills program is OneBridge Center’s vocational computer training curriculum for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It is built from the ground up for the way adults with IDD actually learn, individualized, self-paced, structured, and outcome-driven, and it covers the full range of digital skills that employers across every industry are looking for in today’s workforce.

A Month of Learning, Growing, and Caring for Our Earth

At Onebridge Center, our participants have spent the month learning about the environment and simple ways to make a positive impact. From exploring the importance of recycling to planting flowers and discovering how to reduce waste and reuse everyday items, each activity has been a chance to learn and grow.

These hands-on experiences build responsibility, creativity, and life skills while helping participants feel connected to the world around them.

We’re proud of all they’ve learned this month and excited to keep making a difference, one small step at a time.
