Did you know? Beethoven was deaf when he composed his greatest symphonies. He "heard" them internally; imagine the discipline that takes. Our upcoming recitals (June 6 & 13) are a chance to hear your young musicians bring Beethoven and other composers' music to life!

Did you know? We're officially switching to kazoo-only lessons starting this fall. Piano? Too mainstream. Voice? Overrated. Kazoos are the future of music education. (April Fools! But honestly, kazoos are underrated.)

Our Honors Recital celebrates students who have shown steady growth, remarkable consistency, and a genuine commitment to their craft. These moments are a reflection of dedication over time and we couldn’t be prouder.

Meet Madison, our Early Childhood Music Coordinator

If you have a 4, 5, 6, or 7 year old in lessons or group classes with us, there’s a good chance Madison has had a hand in their musical journey.

Madison is one of our piano, voice, and guitar teachers, and she also serves as our Early Childhood Music Coordinator. In this role, she:

Co-creates our early childhood music curriculum with Mariana (our director)

Teaches our early childhood piano group classes and summer camps

Trains our assistant teachers so they feel prepared to work with young kids

Supports teachers when they have questions about how to teach 4–7 year olds

Helps choose songs and activities that are just the right level—challenging, but still fun and doable

Working with young children is more than “just smaller students.” It means understanding attention spans, energy levels, and how kids learn best through play and routine.

Because of Madison’s work, our early childhood program:

Has a clear structure and progression

Feels joyful and playful, not stressful

Helps children build a solid foundation in music from the very beginning

If your child has ever come home from class excited to show you a new song or game they learned at the piano, Madison has likely helped create that experience.

Help us appreciate her in the comments — “Thank you, Madison!” is a great place to start.

Meet Mary Ruth – the person who cares for our teachers (and your kids’ recitals!) 🎶

Most families know their child’s teacher, but not everyone knows about the people supporting our teachers behind the scenes.

Mary Ruth is our Faculty Care Coordinator and Recital Coordinator, and she also teaches a studio of 57 students herself!

Here’s how she helps make your child’s music experience smoother and more meaningful:

She onboards new teachers and trains them on our systems, parent communication, and how to set clear goals with students.

She helps teachers choose repertoire that fits each student, so songs feel challenging but achievable.

She coordinates Musical Ladder challenge scheduling, so students can predictably earn their wristbands and trophies.

She’s there when teachers have questions about how to teach a concept differently or support a specific student.

She arranges substitute teachers when someone has to miss, so your child’s lessons can stay consistent.

As Recital Coordinator, she helps make sure our recitals are organized, calm, and special for every performer.

Because of Mary Ruth’s work, our teachers feel supported and prepared, and that directly impacts how your child learns and grows in lessons.

If your child has ever beamed while earning a wristband or walking off the recital stage, there’s a good chance Mary Ruth had a hand in making that moment possible.

Drop a “Thank you, Mary Ruth!” in the comments if you’d like to help us appreciate her!
