❄️ Snow Day – February 23, 2026 ❄️

Medina City Schools will be closed today due to persistent snow and wind creating unsafe road conditions during arrival. A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect throughout the day.

All PK–8 after-school activities are canceled. Updates regarding athletics and high school activities will be shared later today by coaches and the Athletic Department.

Due to continued extreme cold and winter weather, Medina City Schools will be CLOSED tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28th.

We know this winter’s been relentless—and let’s be honest, you’re probably getting tired of hearing from me! But as always, student and staff safety comes first.

Medina City Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 26 due to heavy snowfall and Tuesday, Jan. 27 due to extreme cold, with wind chills around or below -20°F.

Due to dangerously low temps and wind chills nearing -20°, Medina City Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 20 for the safety of our students and staff.

Today (Monday):
❄️ All district activities are canceled — except Orchestra, which will conclude before evening.

Tuesday:
📚 PK–8 extracurriculars are canceled.
🏀 High school activities will be evaluated Tuesday afternoon. Families will receive updates from coaches, advisors, or the Athletic Department.

Medina City Schools is closed today due to poor road conditions and additional snowfall expected.

❄️ SCHOOL CLOSURE – TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2 ❄️

Due to continued snowfall, freezing temperatures, and hazardous road conditions, Medina City Schools will be CLOSED today, Tuesday, December 2. Road crews need more time to treat rural and secondary roads, and closing helps us keep everyone safe.

➡️ K–8 before- and after-school programs are canceled.
➡️ High school after-school programs and athletic events will be evaluated throughout the day.

Medina High School’s Erin Vleugels earns Innovation Award for immersive classroom project 11/06/2025

Ms. Vleugels earned the Highlighting Innovation Award for her immersive AP Human Geography project, where students investigated a simulated 1854 London cholera outbreak. A creative, hands-on way to bring learning to life.

We’re so proud of Mrs. Vleugels and her commitment to innovative, student-centered learning! 💚🐝

I just wanted to share some good news with everyone! The National Speech & Debate Association just named the 2024-2025 Leading Chapters, and Medina High School is 1 of only 4 schools in Ohio to make the list!

🐝 Medina High School Student Leaders!

On October 7th, eleven MHS student-athletes attended the OHSAA Student Leadership Conference at Firestone High School, joining over 800 peers from across Northeast Ohio to explore leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Inspired and motivated, they’re ready to bring these lessons back to strengthen Medina’s athletic programs and school community!
