Farm-Fresh Butter in a Jar 🧈Who knew a little arm workout could yield such delicious results?

💪✨ We spent some time today learning the lost art of churning butter—and the whole process is basically magic! It's a fantastic, hands-on lesson in food science that reminds us where our food comes from and proves that some of the best things in life take a little bit of patience.

Here is how we did it:🥛 The Setup: Pour cold heavy whipping cream into a glass jar until it’s about half full. Add a pinch of salt if you want salted butter.
👋
Screw the lid on tight and shake! It will turn into whipped cream first, but keep going.
After a while, you’ll hear a splashy thud and feel a solid lump form.
💦 Drain off the leftover liquid (hello, fresh buttermilk!). Rinse the butter lump in ice-cold water, pressing it gently until the water runs clear.

🥚 Egg-speriment Time! 🧪Have you ever seen a "naked" or bouncing egg? We decided to do a little kitchen science today to compare my backyard farm-fresh eggs against standard store-bought eggs! 🐔✨

I placed one raw farm egg and one raw store-bought egg into separate jars and completely covered them in white vinegar. The acetic acid in the vinegar reacts with the calcium carbonate in the eggshells.

We will be checking on them everyday for a whole week stay tuned to find out what happens!!!!

Today we had a blast bringing our students together for a fun, hands-on STEAM activity! 🐦✂️

Our school-age kids teamed up in small groups to design and build their very own DIY bird feeders using popsicle sticks, glue, and twine. It was amazing to watch them collaborate, share ideas, and help each other layer the sticks to create the perfect little feeding boxes.

Not only did this project teach them about local wildlife, but it also encouraged great teamwork, patience, and problem-solving skills. 🤝🌲

Spread your wings—it is a brand new week! 🦋 ✨

We started our Monday with pure wonder as our children released our beautifully grown butterflies into the world.

Watching these caterpillars transform taught our little ones so much about patience, growth, and nature's magic.
Just like these butterflies, our children are growing, learning, and ready to fly higher every single day. We cannot wait to see what beautiful things this week will bring!

Our little ones have been front-row spectators to one of nature’s most incredible shows!
🐛➡️🦋Over the last few weeks, we’ve watched our tiny caterpillars grow, build their cozy chrysalises, and finally emerge as beautiful butterflies. It’s been a magical lesson in patience, change, and new beginnings.
Watching the children’s eyes light up as they witnessed the first flutter of wings was the highlight of our week!
Just like these butterflies, our students are growing and changing every single day, and we are so proud of the "wings" they are developing.
