I sometimes have a hard time expressing my true excitement when amazing things are happening. Fear of jinxing it? Don't want to be taken as bragging? Well, here it goes.
THE CENTER CAFE IS GETTING RENOVATED! Ok, it is actually relocating to a different part of the Career Center. But. Designated parking. Its own exterior entrance. Windows into the kitchen. Private dining/meeting room. Outdoor dining area. SO MUCH MORE! The pictures are the current renderings. Still lots to iron out.
I am humbled by the generosity of Steve Chrisman as well as our Board of Education for making this a possibility. I. AM. EXCITED! For the future. For the students. For the community. For the MCCC staff. Okay, for me too.

Graduates, Parents, Friends of the Chef & Restaurant Management Program and The Center Cafe. Please let me know if I can email you specific information. Read on ....
On Saturday, April 17, 2021, we will host the From the Heart Scholarship Dinner. Proceeds from the event will benefit scholarships for students as they continue into post-secondary education.
This event would never have become as successful as it is today without the support of the wonderful local businesses here in Medina County. Each year we ask friends of the program to consider donating a unique item or service that would also advertise your business.
Historically, we ask for donations with a $50 minimum value. Our process for assembling raffle packages includes creating a theme, as well as a minimum of a $250 combined value. All contributors are listed in the program that is handed out to the 220+ guests that we have on the evening of April 17th.
Would you please take a few moments and think if you or someone you know would have a unique item or service that could be donated?
Email me directly with questions and suggestions at [email protected]. We are trying to have items collected by Friday, March 19.
Items/services that have been collected over the years include:
-Autographed sports memorabilia
-Auto repair services (gift certificate for specific $ amount)
-Handcrafted woodwork
-Artwork
-TV
-Salon gift certificates and products
-Restaurant gift cards/certificates
-Limo service
-Lawn care
-Lottery ticket baskets
-Wine
-... and so many other great ideas!
Also, if the above idea is not for you, but you find it in your heart to help out in another way; here are two options:
1. Donate money for the sake of us buying items for the auction/raffle.
2. Email me suggestions for me to contact for a donation. I enjoy spreading the positive energy that this event brings with it.
We truly appreciate all of the support in the past and hope that you will consider supporting this event. The evening holds a special place in so many people’s hearts.
Thank you for your consideration,
