💰 Pay: $17.13–$19.00 per hour, based on education and experience

Miss Juniper is graduating from Medical Lake High School this year and will be attending Reed College in Oregon next year. As one of our youngest team members, she has quickly proven herself to be a capable and thoughtful part of our team.

She brings a calm, steady presence to the classroom and interacts with the children in a kind, encouraging, and nurturing way. She has grown in both confidence and professionalism, consistently stepping into her role with maturity beyond her years.

Most importantly, Miss Juniper builds warm, respectful relationships with the children and has become a trusted and valued member of our team. We are proud of her growth and grateful for the care she brings to Cela’s each day.

Miss Lola is graduating this year with a BA in Applied Developmental Psychology. She has been a valued member of our team for almost two years, serving as an assistant in both our Toddler and Preschool classrooms, and has shown tremendous growth.

Miss Lola shows a strong sense of loyalty to the team and brings a dependable, hardworking presence to the classroom each day. She is always ready to step in and support.

Most importantly, Miss Lola builds strong, meaningful relationships with the children and has formed positive connections with both students and staff. Her caring nature and steady work ethic help create a supportive, engaging classroom environment, and we are grateful for all she contributes to Cela’s each day.

Ms. Kylie is currently pursuing her certificate in Early Childhood Education and brings consistency, dedication, and so much passion into her work every single day. She is deeply loyal to her coworkers and workplace, always ready to step in, support others, and champion the needs for who she cares about.

Ms. Kylie is gentle, patient, and caring with the children. She builds strong, positive relationships with families and creates connections that help children feel comfortable, loved, and secure, making a difference in the day-to-day rhythm of the classroom. Both children and families naturally gravitate toward her warmth and kindness.

Ms. Kylie loves to bring people together through food. Specifically through sharing her famous musubi with the team, she shows her care through both her actions and her generosity. We are so thankful for her dedication, her steady support, and the positivity she brings to Cela's each day.

Have you been to the Medical Lake Library (Spokane County Library District)? 📚

Our school-age class always has a great time with Ms. Krista exploring books and taking part in hands-on STEM activities that spark creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving.

We’re really grateful for our local public libraries and everything they offer to children and families in our community. They provide meaningful learning experiences outside the classroom and help nurture a lifelong love of reading and discovery. 💙

Ms. Sha brings a calm, nurturing presence to our classrooms and has become a valued part of our team. She is currently pursuing her AAST in Early Childhood Education and comes with experience working in child care centers throughout Spokane, including time as a Lead Teacher in Early Head Start.

Ms. Sha originally joined us as a substitute teacher. When our previous Lead Infant Teacher moved on to a new opportunity, she stepped into the role so smoothly. She is a fast learner who quickly gets to know each child’s personality, needs, and routines. Her soft-spoken, gentle tone helps create a classroom environment where children feel safe and supported throughout the day.

Ms. Sha’s dedication and willingness to jump in wherever needed have made a huge difference in a short amount of time. We are so thankful for her kindness and steady, caring energy she brings to Cela's each day.

The students always love when community helpers come visit the center, and the dentist visit with Medical Lake Family Dental was definitely a favorite 🦷

They got to learn about brushing teeth, healthy habits, and even practice on the giant teeth model. There were lots of smiles, questions, and excited little helpers wanting a turn with the toothbrush.

We’re so thankful for the people in our community who take the time to come spend time with the kids and make learning fun. 💙

Our students had the opportunity to learn from a visitor from Medical Lake Veterinary Hospital who spent time teaching them all about caring for animals! 🐾🐶

The children learned how vets help keep pets healthy and what animals need to stay happy in a fun, kid-friendly way. There were lots of thoughtful questions, excited conversations, and plenty of stories about their own pets at home!

Experiences like these help build empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. We’re grateful for community helpers who share their knowledge with our little learners.

✨ Teacher Highlight ✨

Miss D’rey brings a ton of enthusiasm and experience to our School-Age Program. She’s pursuing her BA in Business and comes with many years of experience at the Boys & Girls Club. Since joining Cela’s, she’s quickly built strong connections with every student and has grown so much as part of our team.

She carefully plans each day so the kids have a fun, engaging, and relaxing time beyond their school hours. Whether it’s hands-on science experiments, creative art projects, or group games, she creates opportunities for kids to explore, play, and enjoy themselves in a space that feels safe and welcoming. Her care and attention make every child feel valued and seen.

Even in the short time she’s been with us, Miss D’rey has made a big difference for our School-Age Program. We’re so grateful for her dedication, her warmth, and the joy she brings to every day.
