Happy Mother's Day to all the maternal figures in our community! Thank you for all the love and light you bring to our families.
Media Friends Meeting was honored to celebrate Mother's Day with two fun events! An Art and Worship Workshop celebrated the different forms of motherhood, led by Jan Hansen and Meg Barney (Clerk, Providence Friends Meeting). We created paintings, paper flowers, cards, and more for the mother figures in our lives!
Our Sunday, Quaker Religious Education event, was a Faith and Play Program on Margaret Fell, considered to be the Mother of the Religious Society of Friends. We learned the story of her witness and support for early Friends at Swarthmoor Hall. Her legacy lives on with us!

In the midst of an overwhelming world we invite you to come join us for an hour of
attentive stillness.
Worship in the manner of Friends (Quakers) is held in silence. We are not led by a hired minister, we come together trusting that the time of communal worship will allow us to draw closer to the "still small voice" within each of us and a source that is holding all of us. Worshippers may be moved to share a messages guided by the Spirit.
Quakers use God, Spirit, Truth, Seed, Light, as names that point to this source. We are part of the Christian landscape, but we have no formal sacraments, only guidelines and queries to help deepen and strengthen our journey as members of our faith community. Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality, and Stewardship are helpful markers.
We welcome visitors to experience worship with us, Sundays at 10 AM, at 125 W 3rd St, Media, followed by refreshments and opportunities to participate in other activities. See our calendar of events at: https://mediafriendsmeeting.org/

Janet and Jim Nicholson participated in an EQAT action at Vanguard headquarters today. Representatives from EQAT, FCNL, CRQCL, and AFSC participated. The request is for Vanguard to uphold its corporate value of supporting communities by ceasing investments in toxic industries that are poisoning vulnerable communities, such as Chester in DELCO and areas of Louisiana, including the region known as Cancer Alley. These community members have seen little to no financial benefits from the businesses, but have incurred higher rates of numerous health issues including nervous system disorders, infertility, low birth rate, and many types of cancer.
We ask that Vanguard make sustainable investments that support communities!
