Back together and ready to kick off a new school year! Our St. Mary Magdalen faculty and staff are back for their first day of professional development, and they got their first look at our brand new playground!!

✨🍎 New Teacher Spotlight: Meet Mrs. DelFra! 🍎✨

We are so excited to welcome (welcome back) Mrs. Megan DelFra to the St. Mary Magdalen family! 💙 This year, Mrs. DelFra will be teaching 5th Grade Science, Math, and Religion, and we are thrilled to have her joining us full time!

Originally from Rumson, New Jersey, Mrs. DelFra now lives in West Chester with her husband and their three children: Louis, a junior at Notre Dame; Kiley, a freshman at Penn State; and Amy, a sophomore at Villa Maria. And of course, we can’t forget the family pup, Philly! Her full name is “Philly” DelFra—a name inspired by the Eagles winning the Super Bowl when the family brought her home! Outside of school, Mrs. DelFra loves spending summers in Sea Isle, fall weekends at Notre Dame and Penn State, reading, and walking her dog, Philly.

When asked what she’s most excited about this year, Mrs. DelFra shared:
“I’m excited to be a part of the SMM community full time and work with the amazing students, teachers, faculty, and parents!”

✨🍎 New Teacher Spotlight: Meet Mrs. Caruso! 🍎✨

We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Sharon Caruso to the St. Mary Magdalen family! Mrs. Caruso will be joining us an instructional aid in Pre-K4.

Mrs. Caruso lives in Media with her family and is married with two sons. She is especially looking forward to celebrating all the special moments and holidays with her Pre-K4 students, from Thanksgiving and Christmas to Easter!

When she’s not in the classroom, you can find Mrs. Caruso cheering on her favorite college football teams! She especially enjoys following Penn State and the University of Alabama, where her boys attend(ed).

We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Weir to the St. Mary Magdalen family! 💕 Mrs. Weir will be joining us as a Pre-K4 Teacher.

Here’s what Mrs. Weir had to say about joining SMM:

"I am excited to start as the new PreK-4 Teacher at SMM School and build a warm, faith-filled classroom where we can learn about kindness, love, and sharing each day! Joining such a supportive, tight-knit Catholic school community means the world to me, and I cannot wait to watch our sweet students learn, grow, and celebrate their big milestones this year!"

When she’s not in the classroom, Mrs. Weir loves reading great character books and spending time with family and friends, especially at the beach!

The Women's Club of Media proudly presents the “Kids and Kindness” Award to a fourth-grade female student who exemplifies kindness, compassion, civility, generosity, and genuine concern for others.

Mrs. Kelley's fourth grade students entered the Sons of the American Revolution poster contest. Each student created a poster of an event from the Revolutionary War. Emily Blake won first place at SMM, first place in the local chapter, AND first place among all fourth graders in the state of Pennsylvania! Her poster has been entered in the Sons of the American Revolution national competition. Great job to all who entered and congratulations to our top three winners!

What an incredible way to wrap up the school year!

Last week we celebrated our amazing students and all of their hard work during the third trimester and throughout the entire school year.
